I've been using the Mosquitaire for a few weeks now (with a CO2 tank) and it has been great. I check the bag every few days just to see more of those suckers trapped in there!
I love a systems that clearly takes out mosquitoes and proves it. I measure the success by the mosquitos being captured in the bag and not on me. My bag is not as full as the one in video but as long as I not getting bit, I am satisfied
Was surprised how much mosquitos were caught.
Got the trap and set it up. Very easy to follow instructions. Just emptied my trap out after about a month of use (with stinky bait).. Bag was about 1/4 full of dead mosquitoes. I squished the living ones and dumped them out in the median (not on my property) I haven't been getting bit by mosquitoes as much when I've been outside this spring. Mosquitoes will only bite me out of a group of ppl, so exterminating all these mosquitoes really brings me joy and happiness and a sense of meaning. If you're sitting on the fence and aren't sure if this trap is worth the money.. Just do it. Consider it an investment against the mosquito horde and join the holy crusade to reclaim our backyards. WOW! This device really works and it works really well. I live in Miami Day Count in a city Called Homestead, its very close to the Florida Everglade's. Which means we live close to an area where a lot of mosquitoes breed. The first day I installed my units(2) of them, I was amazed at the number of trapped mosquitoes caught just overnight. After about a week the capture nets were almost full.I wish it was a way to attached my videos of captured mosquito's. Can I become a distributor? Thank you, HMac
This is a very effective and well constructed device. It traps many mosquitoes per day here in Southern California. It's also well designed for outdoor use and is easy to maintain. Biogents has really done their homework in figuring out mosquito behavior. Our neighbors are very impressed and are interested in buying them to help control our mosquito problem.
We live in a 60 year old suburb north of Baltimore Maryland. When we first moved in I never expected the swarms of Tiger Mosquitoes we hade. You couldn't go outside for more than 5 minutes without getting bitten. One instance stands out. I was replacing some rotten boards on our deck and had coated myself in repellent. As I was sitting on the joists drilling new holes I looked down and there was a small swarm of mosquitoes circling between my legs! They were so persistent and aggressive. After doing much research, I landed on the Mosquitaire over the propane burning competitors and I'm glad I did. When I got the unit I plugged it in without the attractant and caught maybe 10 in the first 2 days. Once I used the attractant it was pulling in lots of mosquitoes and gnats. The population declined somewhat that first year but by the second year they were gone. Just last year I bought a 2nd unit as there seemed to be a resurgence and this cut them out again. I placed one near the front side of our 1/4 acre lot and the other on the opposite back side. This way I cover my neighbor's yards as well as mine. They are extremely low maintenance though I do have to put a reminder at 2 months to change the attractant. Also, as a side note, you can connect two of the 10 meter extension cords together for a longer run.
I have an allergic reaction to mosquitoes and histamine in general. The Biogent products work well but do need active monitoring and maintenance. We lived in a suburb ofDallas, TX and the mosquitoes kept us from enjoying our beautiful yard. I deployed one CO2 trap and 3 of the water traps. They worked well and helped some but the CO2 consumption was counterproductive and expensive. I would pay for a 20lb tank to catch 100-200 mosquitoes. I liked the water traps better. The traps lasted about 2 years before the UV rays destroyed them.
Doesn't work
We had high hopes for this, but it didn't attract anything here in the Austin area.
