But now! So worth it!!

Kristin September 12, 2025

Excellent for scaring the birds out of my yard!!! Should have bought this before I spent so much money on other ridiculous gadgets to scare them away, like reflective tape, spinning reflectors, etc!!

My target pests are grackles and crows. Has worked amazingly well! Better than I expected.

Pigeons

Hidalgospirit June 21, 2017

This device is doing a pretty good job. We did have to turn it up to about 45% volume and move the dog food to keep the pigeons off the porch. Not 100% effective but a serious reduction in bird droppings, which is why we couldn't even sit on the chairs on the porch. Saw one walking at the base of the steps this morning. My one wish is that we could rotate through the different birds because the black birds and the wrens don't seem phased by the pigeon calls. Very few of those, though and we are very glad not to have the large flock of pigeons any more.

I got this to keep the Barn Swallows out, And it is working. When I first set the unit up and was turned on in side of the building there was a pair of Swallows that just set their and look at me no matter what setting I placed it on, I started looking for the box to send it back. The next day the pair were gone along with the other family members. Thank you.

Bird Chase Supersonic

JEM2212 April 16, 2018

I purchased one of these in 2012 for woodpeckers in my barn; it worked great until 5 years later when it just up and died; no sound output. I'm an electrical engineer and not afraid to dig into the guts, so I tore that apart and determined that the audio amplifier output IC chip was the culprit. I unsoldered it, installed a socket and a replacement chip and wa-la, it works again. I just purchased a second one to supplement the first for starlings which have recently become a problem. This new unit has a re-designed circuit board with less discrete components, miniturization and other improvements etc. for improved reliability. I had modified the first unit so that the sound is muted when my burglar alarm circuit is deactivated; it's only on when the premises are vacant and the alarm is set. I may do that with this unit as well. The unit has three simple controls allowing you to select day, night, or all-the-time mode via use of a photosensor; one of several different bird call selections (grackle, woodpecker, starling, etc), and the volume control. The afore-mentioned photo sensor does not work very well if you have it installed in a dark building, but in my case there is enough light filtering through that it is not an issue. Four jacks are provided for secondary speakers if desired so you can very effectively cover an entire large building. The same sound patterns are repeated every 10 minutes; this does get extremely repetitive but maybe the birds don't notice that. The electronics enclosure is protected by a hinged cover but the unit is NOT waterproof; the speaker assembly is exposed to the elements and if this were installed outside it could get damaged pretty quickly. Oddly enough, the external speaker jacks have rubber plugs that waterproof them. Mounting holes are provided on the back side of the unit so you can hang it up on a wall. With full power applied and installed in my barn, I can clearly hear the bird calls a quarter of a mile away! I am assigning 4 stars only because the first unit failed, but that was several years after purchase. Overall, it does the job for which it was intended.

Bird B Gone Bird Chase Super Sonic Bird Deterrent

You have to physically reprogram it after any power failure. It does not reset itself after power glitch, and we get a lot of them. Other than that it seems to help keep birds away when it's on and programed.

Missing Important Feature

FarmerDavid July 30, 2018

The bird repeller makes a lot of noise and seems to scare away our crows, but it's missing a battery backup to keep it's settings when the power goes out. If you put this up near a garden in a rural area, your power source might not be as reliable as folks who live in town. When the power is interrupted for even a short time, the unit looses it's settings; and you have to climb up a ladder and reset everything. All it needs is a battery back-up to be 5 stars.

Disappointing

Diane H April 29, 2026

We have trees full of grackles and really had high hopes for this device. Unfortunately, it does not seem to have made a difference.

We've tried all settings and birds fly right by it and sit near it.
