FINALLY, something that works!! Had an awful problem with black birds on our porch railing (doing their business) , YUCK. I put this up (easy directions) and no problem since!!!!
The holograms or whatever they are on this tape use sunlight to throw out really brilliant, dazzling flashes that animate any wall they hit, even through a window. Do they actually repel birds? We haven't heard any footsteps on the roof since we put up the tape.
I spent a large amount of $$$ covering a patio with a roof, lights, ceiling fans and décor, only to have it invaded by birds and bird nests and, you know, what else!!!! Bird poop everywhere and I mean everywhere!!!! After cleaning everything up twice, I decided to try to eliminate the problem. I found this product online and decided to give it a try. After stressing over the installation of the brackets for days, I decided that I really could not install them or the tape incorrectly. I have not , or heard, a bird under the patio cover since. The tape certainly rattles in the strong Kansas winds, but it doesn't bother anything, except the birds. I would strongly recommend the IRRI-tape to anyone with a BIRD problem.
It worked as advertised. The ribbon reflected in the areas where I installed it. It blew in the wind scaring the birds away. Birds fly back when the streamers blow in the wind. and make a noise.
This product has certainly kept the doves away from landing on the edge of our pool and from sitting on the top of our cars under the carports. We used a metallic tape to attach the Irri tape but it didn't hold well in the wind, so will be trying something stronger to keep the Irri Tape in place. Very satisfied with the product.
Woodpeckers were chewing big holes in the side of my house. I hung a few strips of Irri-Tape from the eaves. The birds mostly shifted their attention to my neighbor's house. (I suggested he try some too.) Recently, a woodpecker, repelled from the side of the house, decided to attack the rear wall. I hung one strip of the product from my balcony and the bird has not returned. I can't say the product is 100% effective, but from my experience, it helps a lot. The price is minor compared to the cost of the damage woodpeckers can do.
Work well for low and short distance. Not strong when long and high drapery is required
i bought this tape upon reading positive reviews but it only works when the sun is reflecting it strong. birds still hang around and in the dawn, birds still come around its not as bad but i think they get used to it and dont care. Actually, Im planning on returning the remaining of the tape.
Not very durable. Not sure if it really works the way the manufacturer says it should.
Consisted of "sparkly" duct tape and some wire thingies. Ordered it online; went to store to pick it up; left it there. Would have been nice if it had been stated in description what was involved in using it. In the picture, it kind of looked like a wind sock.
