This Black & Decker Heat gun has several features that I really liked. The first is the nice compact size. Obviously this is not a tool that you will be using every day so there is a big advantage in a compct size. It fits quite easily in most tool boxes so storage between jobs is a snap. The heat gun also has a very handy wire stand on the handle which, along with the flat back design, allows you to use the heat gun hands free so you can use both hands to control the materials you are using the heat on. The stand is also a perfect way to allow the heat gun to cool down after use without the risk of the hot barrel damaging any surfaces. The Black & Decker 1350 W heat gun has dual heat settings for a variety uses. This tool has many uses from helping to soften paint for stripping, to loosening rusty nuts and bolts, to thawing frozen pipes, the uses go on and on. It can also be helpful to reduce drying time on paints and other materials. The heat gun is made in China and comes with a two year limited warranty.
This Black and Decker Dual Temperature Heat Gun is another great product by B & D. I received this product to try it out while making my southwest jewelry. I do a lot of soldering of copper on copper, coins, etc. and I also solder small novelty items and thought this would be better with the electric 'heat' rather than using the open flame from a soldering torch. It worked! I only used it to solder copper on copper, which has a lower heating point than some other metals. I like the control with the 'drill' like shape of the gun and I think it will get a lot of use in my workroom. A really great feature is that you can stand it up on its backend during cool down so as to not touch anything flammable with the heated end. It is a 1350 W dual temperature heat gun which should also work well on softening paint off of wood and metal. I didn't have any of those type projects to try it out on but I definitely will in the future and will try it out then. As with most B & D products, they offer a product warranty. Nice product!
I purchased the Black & Decker 1375W Heat Gun to use for shrink wrapping and it does an exceptional job. Just what I wanted! Easy to use, light weight and can be used to remove paint. I would recommend this product.
This heat gun is easy to use. It has an ergonomic handle so holding it is a breeze. It has two different heat settings, a high and a low. There is a stand it comes with. Simply pop it out and the heat gun holds itself up. This is useful for when you're letting it cool down. It had 1350 watts, 120V AC only, and a cord that is 6 ft. The two temperatures are 750 degrees Fahrenheit and 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. It has a 2 year warranty. I used it for art projects such as melting crayons on canvas. It was a fun project and easy to do with heat gun. You could prob even use to remove paint. It comes with an instruction booklet which I recommend reading if you are not familiar with this type of tool. It is easy to use but at such high temperatures, it is important to take safety precautions. This is my first best gun so I am not sure how it stacks up against other brands. This appears to be of good quality, many features and easy to use for the everyday person. I would highly recommend this product to anyone seeking a heat gun.
You get what you pay for; nice and compact heat gun, no bells or whistles other than two heat modes. The switch cover plastic is a bit hard to push through. Wish there were explicit wattage/power specifications on the box.
switch is very hard to use
And it works to shrink heat shrink wire coverings flawlessly. :) I recommend it!
Used this to strip paint of a deck. Works great. Heats up pretty quick an does a good job. Just move it back an forth in the area your doin an the paint will begin to bubble. Not recommend doin a big area at one time. I did a section about 3 ft x 3 ft an it worked pretty good.
I recently acquired the Black and Decker 1350W Dual Temperature Heat Gun to see if I could use it to strip paint off of wood and metal. I especially like the instruction manual "Additional Safety Instructions". It is a shame the company has to point out this IS NOT a hair dryer. So off I go to the basement to try my new took on a small coffee table I got from a yard sale many years ago and has been waiting for me to get to it. I found that it was best to "clean" the table from dust which had accumulated. I read the instruction manual, turned on the heat gun to warm up, got my other tools ready and started stripping the paint off the top of the table first. Not so easy at first as I have never done this before. With patience and the right tools I soon had the top stripped. Legs were more difficult as they are not straight up and down. This Heat gun has a two year warranty, 30 day back money guarantee, and a "base" that you can use to sit the heat gun on till it cools or in between uses. I have only used this heat gun on wood. I have yet to try metal. My advice is to READ the Instruction Manual thoroughly before using EVEN if you have used a heat gun before. Lots of good info. Plan your project, have everything ready, ventilate the room, and be near to an outlet. Good luck.
I received this as part of a review program and tested this out on a piece of plexiglass and was very happy with how fast it heated up and made the plexiglass bendable! It was a little concerning with the smoke coming out of the exhaust but I think it was more because it was the first time it was used and not a mechanical defect. I look forward to using this on different projects in the future.
