Black Max 20-inch Gas Chainsaw 50cc 2-Cycle Engine

I took a chance on this and am happy I did. I used it today for the first time and it was great. Obviously, it's not as good as my 460 Rancher ($650) or my 372XP ($1350), but for $200 it's a great deal!

Black Max 20inch 50cc Chain saw is quite impressive. This is my first chainsaw and as a middle-aged woman, it isn't intimidating to use. The Black Max comes with a thick plastic case to protect and store chainsaw when not being used. I had no difficulties opening and removing the chainsaw from the case. A small container of Ethanol Shield cycle oil and screwdriver were included in the package. This chainsaw weighs about 20lbs, which is a good weight for me to handle. I appreciate the clarity of the instruction manual. Not only did it have easy-to-follow instructions; it also illustrates with pictures to understand where each part of the machine is located. I was able to follow the instruction without being confused about what needed to be done to operate this piece of machinery. The instruction on how much gasoline and lubricant was straightforward. The manual also has instructions about operation and maintenance. When I started up this chainsaw for the first time, it felt good to handle. I didn't feel overwhelmed or intimated by the size, weight, or strength of the machine. I was able to chop branches without any problems. I needed a chainsaw to cut tree branches that fall after a storm and trimming the trees. I am satisfied with this chainsaw and would recommend it to other people.

Soon as this came in. It was put to work. Since we do alot of yard work. We kept it going all day. It never missed a lock. It came with everything that was needed. Of course minus the gas. Certainly made our job go alot faster. Wood work looks much nicer N smooth. Considering we have had to use an axe!! Btw.. this one is a 20inch bar.

My husband and I were in the market for a chainsaw because, we were tired of asking friends and family members to borrow theirs when we needed to complete small, medium and large tasks in our yard. While testing out the chainsaw with my husband in our yard, we found it to be exactly how it was portrayed and had all the attributes we wanted it to have. My husband is impressed how this chainsaw started for the first time and how it cut through Oak easily. It is easy to use, the perfect size and weight for tackling any project. The heavy-duty carrying case is great because, it gives us peace of mind knowing the chainsaw is stored away safely, securely and properly when not being used. If given the opportunity, we would recommend the Black Max 50cc 20" Gas Chainsaw to anyone who is in the market for one. It is a durable, high quality, reliable and well made chainsaw that, can complete a variety of different sized jobs, projects and tasks!

This 50cc gas powered chainsaw works perfect for my needs. It allows me to trim the low and larger limbs on my trees. I also use it to chop the wood for my mother for winter. It started each and every time. Sometimes it needs simple adjustments you can do yourself. It comes with the manual, wrench and oil telling you exactly how to mix the oil and gas to use in the chainsaw. This is product is not too heavy for hours of chopping up wood. Great product that will last a long time.

As soon as Black Max 50cc 20 inch chainsaw arrived we started using it right away. We have five acres and there are numerous projects that require a chainsaw. There are some things that California residents need to pay attention to and that is the type of gasoline you use can't be an E15 or E85 ethanol blend. When mixing the fuel be sure to not use either of those ethanol blends. I mention this as this will harm your engine. The engine is certified to operate on unleaded gasoline intended for automotive use but you should not use higher than E10. Mix 2.6 ounces of lubricant with a gallon of gas. The directions for adding bar and chain lubricant are also clear. This medium to heavy duty chainsaw has an 18 inch cutting radius and has an automatic oiler. I am impressed with the chain brake and tip guard that provide extra safety. This chainsaw came fully assembled and in a sturdy carrying case. This chainsaw has an anti-vibration component that provides stability that helps to prevent fatigue and is easier to use than other medium to heavy duty chainsaws. It is also easy to pull start. We began by using the chainsaw to cut branches that needed pruning and to cut up logs from a tree we hired a company to cut down. The chainsaw performed beautifully on the two projects we did during the past couple of days. This chainsaw is very well made and comfortable to use. I highly recommend this chainsaw for your medium to heavy duty needs around your property!

Soon after adding fuel and oil we started our new saw. We were very pleased with how easy it was to start. We've had some wood laying around in our alley with no way to really cut it up ... the New Black Max cut it in no time at all. It has plenty of power and yet quite compact from other chainsaws we have used. It trims dead branches from our trees easily...it is not that heavy which helps a great deal. It comes in a nice case and is easy to store. The instruction booklet is straight forward and simple to follow showing exactly what the gas/oil mixture is, etc.

First thing I'd like to say about this Black Max Chainsaw is it cuts very well. It comes with a convenient storage/carrying case, and is very lightweight. Also love the fact that it comes fully assembled. Those are the positives. What we found disappointing about this chainsaw was how flimsy the 20" bar is. Seems to be made with cheaper metal? Then the first time my husband tried to start it, the chainsaw seemed to want to pull the cord back- pretty hard! It did get a little easier after that. But when he was done using it, his arm was tingling from the chainsaw's vibration during use. He was, however, impressed with how well it cuts. And having a gas powered chainsaw sure beats an electrical one. A gas chainsaw is much easier to work with than constantly worrying about where the cord is every 3 seconds when using an electrical one! As you can see in my pictures it has a tip guard, comes with a combination tool, and a plastic shield (scabbard) to protect chain during storage. Overall we are satisfied with our Black Max Gas Chainsaw and will continue to use it.

I have who's the saw twice and I am no longer able to use it because it would not start would not start any time I went to start it it would not start and I followed all the procedures to do it so I checked the spark plug boot and the spark plug came completely off the saw

The first 20 minutes it worked great. Then the chain flew off and tore up the chain guard. Doing a return through FedEx was a pain. Took them about 3 days to pick up.a week later Walmart said they still haven't scanned the returned item so they can ship a replacement out. Decided to just cancel the whole order. Amazon ships a replacement immediately. FedEx is a pain.
