The Black Max gas blower/vacuum has a lot of power. We live in a rural area with plenty of leaves in the yard at this time of year. My husband has raked the leaves by hand in the past but as you age, raking can be too much on your hands and back. The Black Max gas blower does a fantastic job of moving a heavy layer of leaves in our yard. As you can see from one of the photos, there is a big difference in the yard after using the gas powered blower for approximately 10 minutes. It makes it much easier for him to keep the yard in good shape. My husband highly recommends this blower because it is so powerful and easy to use. The instructions are clear and concise, too. Great product!
My husband put this Blackmax 2-cycle leaf blower together last week and like most men, bypassed the set up instructions. He had minimal trouble assembling it so I would score that as a win! It is a decent sized blower with 400 CFM/150 MPH. The blower started up easily and has impressive power for its size. It is a little on the heavy side (9 1/2 lbs) but we feel that is because it has a sturdy build. It has a variable speed trigger, cruise control and is easy to operate. It can also be converted into a leaf vacuum. My husbands opinion is that the vacuum feature is "okay" but a bit difficult to set up. I should also mention that the blower came with 2- cycle engine lubricant, operators manual and a three year warranty. All in all, we feel this blower is money well spent and we say this because we have been through several leaf blowers over the years and many do not have the sturdiness and power this blower has. We are giving this Blackmax 2 -cycle blower a thumbs up! Great blower!
I was needing a better blower than my old electric one and this Black Max is truly a superb choice. Easy to start, simple to operate, with plenty of power and velocity allows me to get my sidewalks and areas blown without any hassle. I really like the way it is designed to balance, with no arm aches while operating. Sits up straight when I set it down and is very well constructed. The vacuum feature is handy for leaves/debris and will be very useful in the fall. This blower is just what I needed, and is of good quality. I highly recommend.
On a brautiful fall morning the leaves were primed for raking. But on a quick scan of the Walmart app I find this beaty on clearance and can have it shipped to my door in a couple of hours. Worked like a charm. Went from 25 bags last year to 12. Paid for itself right there. If i get one more use out if it it will be money well spent.
This is one of my favorite things I have in my garage. Are use it every week to clean my backyard and front yard I think every home owner should have a gas blower in their shed. This is my first blower so I'm not sure of the strength but it gets the job done and it works well and it's not broken couple of uses.
The Black Max 26cc 2-Cycle Engine 400 CFM and 150 MPH Gas Blower/Vacuum was delivered. After skimming the instruction manual, my husband pulled out the parts, put it all together, and it did not take him long. Being a mechanic, he familiarized himself for the way the blower will work and for the way the vacuum will work. He likes that it gas operated and is not heavy. Using it as a blower, he says it's very powerful and made our sidewalks, driveway and patio nice and clean. He has not used the vacuum yet, but I'm sure it will come in handy. You can see that it is well-constructed and has all the attachments to keep your yard well maintained. It does a great job and I recommend it. I received this product from the Spark Reviewer program.
I have been using an electric plug-in blower/vac ever since I have been a homeowner and taking care of my own lawn. I was starting to get tired of the "cord" so I thought I would give this gas blower/vac a try...and I was not impressed. I can only rate it 3 stars, or Average, based on my experience. Here are the positives: it does a good job of blowing and vacuuming. Does it hit over 200 mph like some of the top blowers do? No, but it has enough gust to blow the debri off of the sidewalk and driveway. It does a good job of sucking and mulching leaves, grass and small twigs. The mulching blade is plastic, so you can't get too aggressive. Assembling the blower and the vacuum was fairly easy and the instructions and easy start guide were very helpful. Starting the engine was easy and did not require too hard of a pull on the rope. I have used it twice so far, and each startup was flawless. I did not see an option for an electric start if you have the drill bit for 2-strokes, so I don't think that is an option to use with this engine. The controls for the throttle are easy to operate and set in place and the kill switch is easy to access to use when done with the tool. The vacuum bag is large enough and well constructed to hold enough debri so you are not having to constantly stop to empty it...however, it will get heavy. The zipper on the bag seems to be well made and will hopefully hold up over time as well as the shoulder strap for the bag. Here are the negatives: Fueling it was a challenge as the gas tank is on the bottom and sits flat to the ground when you set it down. You need to rest the engine on something elevated 1 to 2 feet off the ground for enough clearance to pour gas from a gas can into the tank. There are no shoulder straps or harness features with this tool, and when I used it the second time for almost an hour, my back was in a lot of pain. When switching from blower to vac, or vac to blower, there are too many screws and parts to remove. It is time consuming and also I see this as a longevity concern as these parts may break or wear out as you have to keep adding/removing them from the tool. When removing the vacuum bag from the tool, you have to twist it off and the bag runs into the vacuum tube. This is a HUGE pain in the butt, as I see this tube breaking or wearing out over time with having to twist it on and off. The top negative point is when you hold the tool as a vacuum, the ergonomic design is flawed. The hot exhaust from the engine is blowing onto your chest and face and the dust from the vacuum bag also escapes the bag at times and blows into your face. In summary, the Black Max gas blower/vac does what it is supposed to do. Is it better than my corded electric blower/vac? Honestly...No, but I like that I don't need a cord. There are probably better gas blower/vacs out there, and I just need to find the right one for me. Unfortunately, this gas blower/vac does not check all the boxes for me and I cannot recommend for the serious DIY lawn care homeowner.
Seems a little weak but does the job for the price. My biggest complaint is that does rev out at full throttle like it should. Tempted to adjust it, probably just a 1/8th of a turn but is noticeable as it tries to rev up all the way the backs off. Only had it about 2 months so time will tell for reliability. Think it will be good though as it seems well built.
The blower worked great out of the box, plenty of power for the typical homeowner. This was short-lived. After rounding up the leaves into a neat pile, I decided to test out the vacuum feature. The vacuum worked fine, however I found the mulch bag far too small for the amount of leaves I needed to mulch, so I converted back to the blower. Well, even though I was only vacuuming dry leaves, it seems to have completely ruined the entire blower, which now only blows at about 20% of it's original power. There is no way to easily open the unit to attempt to clean it, and of course, their support is only open during weekdays, throwing a wrench in my entire weekend's "transition the yard for Winter" plans. Black Max should be embarrassed.
DON'T BUY THIS! Mine was delivered October 20, 2023. It didn't start right out of the box (it was suppose to be new), so I called customer service. I was on hold 2 1/2 hours.Nobody answered the phone. Today is November 18, 2023. I still haven't heard it run! WONDERFUL! I'll buy another BLACK MAX PRODUCT!!
