Being of short stature it really helps getting to the top kitchen cabinets. It also brings back memories of my childhood. Both mu mother and grandmother had a chair like this in their kitchens. From putting things away to grandchildren sitting helping with dinner. I love it.
I really like this retro chair with a step stool. It is so handy to use in my kitchen for items in the uppser cupbiards. The price was right, it arrived on time, good packaging, and I would recommend this seller.
A little complicated to get the steps put on the correct way. They tend to fall open when we are moving the stool around. We do use it a lot. Good addition to our kitchen %26 bar. I had an injury to my foot %26 I can sit %26 do kitchen prep while I rest my foot now.
This stepstool is very similar to the one I sat on as a child 60 years ago. The steps slide out instead of lifting and swinging out as the old one did. After assembling it, I had to loosen all the fasteners and make adjustments to get the chair not to wobble and the steps to glide out and stay out instead of moving back under the chair. After doing so, the chair is very sturdy and works as a chair for my preschool grandkids at the kitchen table as well as a stepstool for me to get to my upper cabinets and cleaning up higher, just don't step on the seat for safety as recommended on the warning stickers. Great smaller size tucks away in the corner when not in use.
The step stool retro Costco chair arrived in perfect shape, in perfect time, and thank the lord I was able to assemble it. I am happy with the stool with the exception of not continuing the tradition of days gone by omitting the chair seat that should lift up, exposing two sturdy steps attached to the chair (not removable). I found this disconnection burdensome as I am a disabled senior, and moving the rather heavy chair (a result of combing a fully two step stool and a larger stool with a seat) is most awkward. I have removed the two-step stool part (have to get it off the two guides... not easy to put on OR take off). Good looking retro stool,
I gave it a four is because it was a little smaller than I thought it would be and otherwise I really like it and the smallness is growing on me. I think if it was much bigger it'd be a little too heavy to move around. Satisfied with my purchase and I would recommend it.
I was looking to purchase an older step stool like this. Yes this works okay for my greenhouse just Not as sturdy as the original (made in USA) version. So I only recommend depending on what you are using it for!
I grew up with a very similar looking stool in our kitchen at home. My first major disappointment with this stool is that the darn thing was not assembled. This was not mentioned in the ad. Second it's pretty poor in the quality and strength of the stool, not to mention it's about 20% smaller than the stool we had at home back in the day (1950's and '60s). The assembly took hours to boot, A real PIA.
Not worth the money at all very flimsy was not level had to return it ! Junk
