The lowest setting is actually low! That was a huge frustration I had with fancier brands—the absolute hurricane force unleashed in the very first notch. This thing actually starts nice and mellow and doesn't throw ingredients out of your bowl. But it was also plenty fast for my purposes—whipped egg whites for a chiffon cake easily and without having to drag out my stand mixer. I haven't tried it with heavy ingredients like cookie dough yet, but I'm already glad I bought it.

I just bought this and used it once. It made whipped cream fast, and mixed up cake batter without slowing - it definitely has more power than my last mixer! The holder is great. My only issue is that it's slightly heavy for my arthritic hands- but I'll gladly deal with that to have the extra power! It is not noisy, another plus. This was a good choice.

I like the fact that the attachments store in the attached storage. That makes it so easy to use. No more searching for attachments in a drawer. I haven't used all the attachments,because I don't bake a lot, but the speed of the motor and the beaters worked fine. For heavy duty use, I don't think this would hold up, but for a weekly cake mix, pudding etc. it will do the job! I love this mixer.

I needed a new mixer bc I had lost some of my pieces and it was one I had for yrs and cheap when I got it. This one, Black Decker 5 speed Hand mixer, is the best hand mixer I've ever used! It was on sale at Christmas, came with a little plastic box that holds all the pieces and the mixer snaps on top so you can keep everything neatly stored and covered.

Every serious home-chef foodie needs pro power tools for the kitchen and when it comes to long lasting, well made, high power tools You can't go wrong with Black and Decker! I will probably never use this mixer on the highest speed unless I'm mixing cement. This mixer is so well made and so powerful that i am very thankful for the gentle start feature where it starts out slower so you don't end up painting your walls with pancake batter. The attachments are well made, you get beaters, a whisk and dough hooks and they are easy to add and remove from mixer. I love how it all fits inside the handy snap on case which stores so easily in one streamlined package taking up very little room in cupboard. The design is so well thought out, they even recessed the power cord over to the side instead of the back so that you can sit the mixer on it's end on the counter like an iron. Very happy with this purchase, I highly recommend this mighty mixer!

The price is very affordable and allows me to involve my older grandchildren to help out in the kitchen baking. Most inexpensive hand mixers only have 1-3 speeds. This gives you 5 speeds that includes a slow start speed and a Turbo button, extra mixing attachments AND a snap on plastic bin to keep everything in nicely!

It worked. But after less than 2 months, the coat on one of the beaters peeled off. I’m not using it anymore because I’m not sure how it will affect the safety of my baked goods. Can I still return it?

I never imagined that a 21st century hand mixer would not have a button for ejecting the attachments . . . but here we are. Back to the 1970s and grasping the beaters to pull them out. I once accidentally powered the mixer with my fingers jammed in the attachment to remove them.

I would not recommend purchasing this item. The beater shanks are short and the mixer itself is far too light. The shanks were completely engulfed in the cake batter. As a B %26 D item it doesn't stand up on its end when not in use as it should. You either have to hold it or lay it down, The mixer did not perform well when mixing a homemade cake batter. The power level is adequate. I did not use the turbo power level. (shouldn't have to for a cake) and container is hard to use.
