Wanted it to sharpen garden tools, it did a great job. On/Off switch is a safety switch, slide forward ON, press down on rear of switch to slide OFF. It's a grinder NOT a cutter.
Bought one in 2007 after a cheaper model burnt up cutting concrete. I have used this thing to cut harden steel, concrete, wood, you name it. I have taken on jobs that I was convinced wound burn this one up but it did the job and is still doing the job. Toughest electric hand tool I have ever own and I do a good share of DIY projects around the house.
Light weight and high grip allows a DIYer enthusiast with small hands like me to get work done and save money!
Own several B&D products. This grinder confirms my trust in B&D products. Powerful, comfortable to hold, easy to change discs.
I bought this grinder over 25 years ago it finally quit but was and is a great grinder
The grinder seems to work well, but the on/off switch is not located in a good position for a left handed user. I would think the tool would be more ambidextrous if the switch was on the top of the tool instead of on the side. You can still use it if you are left handed, but it probably won't be as convenient for you and may not be as safe either.
I'm very concerned that this arrived in abag with a destroyed box inside it (see pics)...its literally flat and the lid/end is ripped off. Heres hoping the grinder isn't harmed since it's a gift!
Is this product 6 amps or 6.5 amps please. I would be happy if you write how many.
As an Ironworker for 30+ years I have used many 4-1/2 grinders, mostly B & D I still have one from the 1980's, type 101 other # is 2750, compare the one to the ones B&D make to day, no comparing the older ones. They were smaller and much easier to use and not made in China I have burned out 2 of the new type in the last 4 years But they are cheap enough I consider them throw away tool
Broke on first use. Some graphite piece inside was snapped when I took it apart. Don't see that on any parts list. Trying to get my kitchen done, need to spend the time to go get a reputable machine now. Will not purchase from this company ever again. I see why it was so much cheaper than the other companies. Not built to last. Oh well. Good luck to you all, I would reccomend against this product.
