BLACK+DECKER BPP10WTB 10,000 BTU SACC/CEC (14,000 BTU ASHRAE) Portable Air Conditioner with Remote Control, White

Started using this in early June 2024 and so far so good. This is my 3rd portable ac unit -the other 2 were more expensive and a different brand….they were loud and ended up malfunctioning after 1 yr and then after 3.5 weeks….very pleased with the Black and deckers. Much quieter than others and keeps the room very cool almost to the point that I need to turn it off. Definitely recommend.

Pros: Easy to install, and move to a different room. Cons: Had to ask my son to cut the window plastic to fit my window. There were no instructions, or manual. The remote increased the volume on our TV soundbar, so they are on the same wavelength :-)

works as described. I have to let it drain into a bucket to get prolonged use out of it because it gives error code %26 fills upnthe drain line every 30 minutes or so %26 stops cooling, other than dumping a bucket of water every so often its not bad

Only problem was it did not come with an owners manual. Fortunately I have put many things together, and it wasnt hard to figure out.

Nice ac portable. Cooling fast. But it's loud.

The last three portable air conditioners that I purchased lasted less than a year each, so it's too early to tell if this was a good purchase.

Shop around - even at fill blast it doesn't completely cool a 20 x 25 foot room. It also draws a LOT of power - if we try to use any other appliances (computer printer, iron, microwave) in the same area of the house when this is on or it will trigger the fuse box shutoff. This would all be manageable but the worst part is - the plastic internal blower snapped in the first week - still functional but rattles like crazy. I was able to do DIY repair that lessened the noise but probably voided my warranty too. This is my second portable a/c - I'd bought a no-name brand unit for a 12 x 17 foot room that's still working great 2 years later. I should have just bought another one, because after a month of use this one is a hunk of junk. I though Black and Decker would a trustworthy brand but I was mistaken.

Initially my wife and I ran these at normal fan and cooling temperature and could not notice a big difference, then the last two days we ran them on high fan and the lowest temperature and did not feel that this unit did a very good job of cooling.

This item is very flimsy. It arrived damaged in several places including the base legs, the body shell, and the window piece.

doesnt work half the time, and when it does it isnt enough to cool down a small room. i drain it and clean the filter religously and not once has this proven to be reliable
