It's hard to buy off the internet without actually seeing the product.. but this was the perfect size for two people and there's no waste I highly recommend the three cup rice cooker. It Cooks the rice perfect and keeps it warm after it's cooked. Nice.

Caveat: The unit really only is a 2 or 2.5 cup max rice cooker. Also, directions are confusing. Fortunately, I have purchased a similar item years ago fm a different manufacturer but it is very similar. Basic rice: rice pkgs say 1 part rice to 2 parts water stovetop. Most rice cookers say 1 part rice to 1 part or maybe 1/1/4 part water. It's up to you to do a test run and adjust the amount of water to have rice either cooked more firm or more fluffy. More water, more plump/fluffy. Do the one part rice to one and a quarter part water as a starting point. It's a great unit for one or two people household; excellent for singles. If you have a larger household, buy the larger 6 cup unit; it's very much close to same price or not much more.

A clearly compact cooking pot, yes it does make 3 cups of cooked rice. The measurements on the pan and cup are accurate. Remember this is a very small appliance, so you know that. I use mine to reheat my prepped food since I live alone. It works perfectly as a rice cooker also. When you plug it in , the warmer light is on, you have to press the button down to cook. You can stop the cooking and go back to warm. And to completely turn it off you will have to unplug it. It does and it has come to a raging boil, remove lid stir and I sometimes put it back on but leaving a gap.

Definitely serves one two or three at the most but cute and easy compact. I like it. Only question is why show a white steamer basket in the advertising if you don't receive one with the product because when you look for one by black and decker in that size it's too hard to find.

I have a 6 cup rice cooker that I've had for many years and the and the rice pot is at least 3 times bigger than the pot that is in this Black & Decker 3-Cup Rice Cooker. There is no way this could actually cook 3 cups of rice. It would blow the lid off. This tiny cooker would make 2 Cups of cooked white rice, max.

I bought this a few months ago and finally just used it . It worked really well, but unfortunately it's not dishwasher proof as advertised. The lid shattered into a million pieces in the dishwasher. Very disappointed, and way past the return window.

"Three cups" means the 1/2 cup measurement that the included cup is. If you pour 1 1/2, which is the limit, you'll get 1 1/2 actual cups of rice. Nothing wrong with cooking for 1 or 2 people but the description it's deceiving and should specify correct amount. Bought it almost 1 month ago and it stopped working. I think I got sold a return because the little spoon that comes with it was missing. Otherwise, it does what it's supposed to.

Just received it yesterday and when I looked at the bowl of the rice cooker I thought it cannot be 3cups size Too small until I saw what they mean by 1cup . It's not enough even for 1person

i liked the idea of a personal cooking experience but Walmart has to open and repack yhings leaving item's out like yhe steamer basket as a matter if fact it was packed poorly after what rver duch. delivery made delivery made sure i wasn't home.over all with black and Decker i had agreat experience but dongreat somebody stole yhe one i am trying to replace.

We bought this as a replacement in November after our three-year-old one died. Now, in August, it's already dead. The quality has definitely gone downhill. It should last more than 10 months
