Black+Decker with Glass Jar 10 Speed Blender Black (BL2010BG)

years ago I was the recipient of my family's wearing blender which dated back I think to the mid to late 1950s. I took it to college both my junior college experience and my University experience where I graduated in 1968. this blender did wonders for my social life especially on Friday and Saturday night mixing exotic cocktails. this one comes as close to that original blender that I had in college.

The price was awesome, it was available for pick up the day it was supposed to be and the item is a BARGAIN at the price. The B&D blender is sturdy and actually quiet. I love the glass pitcher for cleaning. It is a little heavy, but it's well worth the price and it works like a charm. The color fits in with the rest of my black counter top appliances.

I'm loving my new blender. I especially like how the cord wraps up under it so it's not hanging everywhere. It was very powerful when I made milkshakes, it did it pretty fast. I also used ice in it to make an icee and it did a great job chopping up the ice.

What a spectacular blender. Great for making soups, milkshakes and a host of other things. Aesthetically beautiful. Easy to clean. Price was great.

I like it is a glass. Good power and sharp blades. Bought to replace 1990's model that stopped working. I really like the glass fits decisively in place into machine. Very well made.

I found out that I could just use low speed for my smoothies, with no splashing up the sides. Just start at 2 and go up to 5. Love it!

This purchase was a replacement after a mishap that was my fault. Very dependable, easy to use, consistent blending performance. Two complaints, hence 4 stars, not 5 - I wish the jar was slightly bigger, and I also wish it was easier to reassemble after washing - not intuitive to me - that's how I broke the old one.

CON - It says it crushes ice. It really does not. Disappointed, but for the price it will suffice as a blender... PRO - Had a cracked piece. Called B&W and they sent a new piece in days. They were great to deal with. I would recommend it for blender use but not crushing ice.

I thought the bottom portion was stainless steel. The portion that touches the food, but it was not. Which has lowered my rating. It works for fruit purée pretty well but sometimes I have to add water to get it going.

The motor smiles and get very hot, because it takes too long to get the Result you want, plus you need to add lots of liquid to keep it blending.
