Although this is stated to be for the 17" front grease pan unit, it can be modified to fit the 17" adventure ready rear grease unit. I drilled out the rivets on the hinges to a 1/4" and used a 3/8" to 1/4" flange bushing that was 1/2" long. I put a 1/4-20 x 3/4" bolt through the bushing. the bushing went into the 3/8" hole on the sides of the cast iron and a 1/4" cap screw fastened it all together. work good, looks good and I couldn't be happier
This hood makes our griddle even more useful than it was before. Keeps the splatter down and the heat in. Couldn't ask for a better product
17" is awesome! Portable and plenty of room for the 2 of us. I think I could manage cooking for 4!
I had heat issues in the wind. I tried some wind guards. When I tried a year or so ago it was sold out. So when I found the hood. It was a lot lighter than I expected. and 4 screws to undo on the housing and replace to attach the hood. I love it it has sped up my cooking times.
Other websites have this for double the price which is more than the griddle costs and therefore not worth it. I was glad to find it here. It was a fast delivery, great price, easy install, and the cover still fits good enough although I doubt the carry case would.
I love using my 17 inch Blackstone grill for cooking everything from steaks and burgers to Hibachi dinners. I have been using a large dome lid when I cook veggies and anything else that needs covered. when I saw the Blackstone cover, I immediately bought it and installed it. It works perfectly and looks great on my grill. My only problem is that the grill doesn't fit in my carrying case now because the front handle sticks out farther than the front of the grill.
Nice addition, will keep the griddle top clean while camping. Had to drill hinge rivits out and installed removable pins as I needed to remove top for storage in my rv. Not a big deal but I have limited storage space and griddle would not fit with top attached.
The hood fits well. It mounts with small nuts and bolts included. It’s kind of a must have as the grill loses too much heat when it’s uncovered. It does cook so much better with the hood to capture heat. The flaw... the handle is metal as well, you guessed it, without a pot holder it is too hot to touch as the heat transfers form the hood to the handle. Nothing a few fiber washers won’t cure... hint-hint!!
My griddle with this new hood does not fit into my carrying case. I didn't really expect it to but hopeful that even if I were take hood handle off it might fit. Now , to use the case for the griddle I have to take the hood off, which is not easy and inconvenient. I did improve the process by inverting the attachment screws and adding an additional nut to each screw so the hood can be attached while the griddle back remains intact. We travel and camp with our Blackstone so I will look for an additional cover for the hood alone or research to see if Blackstone actually sells a large enough case.
It won't work on my 17 inch griddle. Whoever I first spoke (text) informed me that even your website said it wouldn't work with the 17 inch griddle. Really ?? Do all ads for the hood mention that little morsel?? I modified mine to work, less I had to eat the return charges. I suggest you be more positive in having people return something that can work.
