Very easy to set up. Easy to fold and store. Perfect size. Note: This size Blackstone uses the small, disposable propane bottles, and does not connect to your larger propane tank. (I didn't notice this when ordering, but easy enough to get those bottles, which I ordered on Walmart.com
Putting it together, but that's a me problem. Was not that difficult so no big deal. Great product very happy with my purchase.
I've had the opportunity to assemble and cook on the 4 burner 36 inch griddle of my niece and now my own 2 burner 22 inch model 2401. These are solid griddles and a pleasure to work with. I worked for three summers in a national park on restaurant quality griddles.
I honestly forgot how heavy blackstones are and mistakenly figured this model would be easily lifted into my car; wrong. Blackstone is awesome so that isn't the issue. I needed assistance from a 2nd person(the kid) to put the side table on since its heavy and awkward. I did use my drill plus a small phillips head and i had to use the wrench for the handle. Otherwise, instructions were pretty straightforward. Regardless of the weight, I am still glad I have the option to take it with me and set up anywhere with or without a table.
I can't wait to use it!! My only complaints are the cheap bolts strip out too easy. I had to run to menards and get a couple 6mm bolts to replace. Also the wind card could use some slots in the back to make it fit to this griddle, luckily I just made some slots of my own and made it fit, but seems to need to have more of a cut out for the greese trap. Great strong build!!
I bought the 22 inch griddle with flex fold legs. I really like how it folds up, and how easy it is to roll it around. I like that you can get an attachment for the 20 gallon propane tank. I’m a vegetarian, and the griddle is perfect. Homemade garden burgers don’t fall through like on a the grill. And the griddle makes it perfect, for things like stirfry.
Followed directions to season the cook top. Went without a hitch, the YouTube and manual directions were easy to follow. Can't wait to cook our first meal!! The Blackstone seems to be a quality build and looking forward to many years of use!! God Bless You!!
The instructions stated there would be extra screws, but as we were putting it together, we found review we were short two screws, We purchased a 5 pound refillable gas bottle rather than buying a 1 pound throwaway gas bottle, which is neither cost-effective nor environmentally sound. The first seasoning prep of the grill was easy enough to do, but took about an hour. We've grilled on it 3 times now and love it! No more nasty cooking smells filling the house! I did go to Walmart and purchase extra accessories and am storing them in a new clean 5 gal. food-grade bucket! The surface is easy enough to clean after grilling is done. And it cools off in approx. an hour.
Very nicely made. The only thing I don’t like about it is the way it folds and drops if upper leg comes out of its curved resting place. There should be something pinning it there. My wife said she had friend in Ogdensburg NY that brick a bone in her foot when she and husband tried to move. I to had it collapse on me. Scary the first time and I won’t let anyone near it if I’m going to move. Other than that I’m very pleased with it
Nice features if you want mobility. It's a bit much for solo load/unload out of a truck, but thankfully when you're cooking, it's easy to find help. Hood is a nice addition . Just be advised you'll need an additional attachment if you want to run a standard 5 gallon propane tank
