We love our Blackstone! It makes grilling so easy no flare ups! And we can make hibachi at home for the whole family so easily! Steaks get the perfect sear!
Great product. A little info for others. I ran out of propane mid cook yesterday. Didn’t turn the burners off before connecting a new tank. This put the burners in low flow mode and I thought there was a malfunction. As usual, pilot error. Once I turned the burners off and reignited all was restored to normal.
It’s awesome
Love the new look with engraved Blackstone name on the front , turn knobs upgraded, yes a plus. The top griddle plate also is thicker than my last one, seems to hear up faster too, I noticed improved layout of the burners, there are one that go across the middle, my old one was just from to back.
The bad: This item should not be shipped via common carrier. The 1st one came via FedEx. It is FAR TOO HEAVY for that system. The single layer of sealing tape had failed, both the bottom and top were failing. While packed as well as expected, it was battered. I inspected it, all "seemed" OK so I put it together (doesn;t take long, an hour or less). THEN I noticed the ignitor assembly was broken, sheared off in one of the many drops during shipping. The Blackstone website does not list that as a replacement part, they were closed for the day (Friday!) when I discovered this, and WM will only return it if defective. So I ordered another one (lost the Prime Day discount). It too came with the same box damage. The main grill, with ignitor was undamaged, bit several other parts were beat to crap. I used parts from both to make 1 functional grill. Again, it was packed OK (more tape would help) but this is simply too heavy for UPS/FedEx, even Amazon. Walmart should make this a ship to store (via truck); too many reviews show the same issues with damage. The good: I returned the broken one to my local WM with no issues. In fact, the refund hit my bank account within 15 minutes (I usually wait 3 days). I bought a propane tank (didn't want to swap tank between my grills) and it fired up. Note: Unlike gas grills, the left and right burner are NOT connected, so if one side is running and you turn on the 2nd, you must use the ignitor again (or the gas will fill up and you will get an exciting start). There is a sliding plate below the burners, slide it so the opening is in the center (I didn't and had to later move it, otherwise you will have the right side be less hot than the left. I seasoned it per the instructions, and the 1st meal was a Japanese habachi, rice, veggies, meat, from a Youtube video. Came out better than expected. I then cooked bacon, scrambled eggs and pancakes; more excellent. I have never cooked on a griddle so much learning ahead. The heat seems well managed and even. Tip: Buy one of the accessory sets that has some good quality tools (SS, spatulas, etc) and at least 2 squirt bottles, one for H2O and 1 for oil. I'm using avocado oil, seems to be working great, and I used butter with the eggs. Cleanup is easy (H2O , scraping and a paper towel, so far I have not needed to use the course sponge my accessory kit has). I have Philly Cheesesteak scheduled for this weekend, again from a Youtube video. Looking forward to mastering this thing. Pictures show damage to boxes (both). It looks like the ad after assembling, and I forgot to take pictures using it. I was on the fence with this one and the 36", glad I got this one, it's big enough for my needs.
Shipping damaged the BBQ. I called and then was later contacted by Blackstone, They are ordering replacement parts and I am still waiting and am unable to use my BBQ
Instructions are very vague and the ignitor piece came thrown in the box and the ignitor box was just hanging. Clearly these pieces are broken or maybe got ruined in transit but we cannot connect the ignitor button to the box. We came to this realization AFTER putting together the whole blackstone and wasting an hour of our time
It was evident that the box had been opened and resealed. There was a broken part on the griddle and that is probably why the box had been opened and resealed with massive amounts of tape. Walmart would only give a refund and would not replaced. Disappointed
Grill top warped permanently after the first use. I thought it would flatten out after I let it cool down but it retained a large bubble in the middle of the grill. Even after repeated heating cycles, the warping remained. Now the grill top wobbles because only 3 of the 4 legs touch the stand. Its absolutely awful and frustrating to cook on. There's some sort of "X" pattern metal structure on the underside and only half the attachment points are partially welded. I imagine its purpose it to keep the top flat, but again, it wasn't welded properly.
waiting for my refund... it was put together and the last step was the start button which was manufactured wrong. so it had to be taken apart , put back in the box and returned to fed ex bad expaerience.
