I like it! Our family has often eaten Banquet and Marie Callender's pot pies over the years. I liked Banquet when I was a child (I'm 56 now.), and I still eat one on rare occasions. I LOVED Marie Callender's, but the taste %26 texture seems to have taken a dip in quality in recent years. I was pleasantly surprised to find Blake's Chicken Pot Pies. I hadn't heard of the brand before, so I bought one to give it a try. It was awesome! They could add just a touch more gravy to make it perfect, but I still like it enough to give it 5 stars. I will be buying more of them. It will be a nice addition to my lunch rotation to take to work, or as a quick dinner for our family when I just don't feel like cooking after a long day at work. Oh, as a side note, I lightly covered it in foil in the oven so that the crust wouldn't burn. I uncovered it for the last 12-ish minutes to get it perfectly golden brown.
I love to cook, but when I'm tired or not feeling well, I always want something that I can count on to nourish me! The Blake family knows how to make a chicken pot pie, not to mention dumplings and chicken, which I wish you would carry… this is an outstanding product… it is small, but it is worth every penny
Tried the chicken. Loved the puff pastry top crust. cooked up fluffy and crisp in the microwave in just under 6 minutes. More vegetables than I've seen in a long time. Will definitely keep these in the freezer. Hopefully can find them in other flavors.
I have been eating this pot pie for years buying it in another grocery store. Walmart has started stocking it in their big stores and luckily I can get it in a new one that is a half hour away and they deliver! I order 2 at a time to always have one on hand. The crust is flaky and flavorful. The filling could be more but the taste is "lick the plate" good. You won't be disappointed in this as long as you don't mind that its small.
This is the best chicken pot pie. It only has a top crust, which means there is more filling. I follow the instructions for cooking in the microwave and crust is crunchy. The chicken is white meat and not small pieces. I have tried other name brand pies and Blake's is by far the best.
I used a 950W microwave adjusting cooking time for the wattage on the box per reference charts on the web. When I opened the box, it also pulled the top off the pie !? Was the top not attached to the rest of the shell? I used a cook time midway between lowest and highest adjusted for my wattage. Still burned portions of the crust, the rest of it was crisp and crunchy. The contents were flavorful.
I bought three different brands of pot pies to try. I thought how hard can it be to make a good pot pie. This one looked like it could be the healthiest, but right out of the packaging, it looked very processed and tiny! Cooked quick and the chicken bits all burned into the foil tin it sits in. How disappointing. Not much gravy or any taste really at all to this little pie. Bland. Bleh. PASS!
I was going to cook it in the oven, but I was impatient, so I microwaved it. I removed the film, and I put it back in the box. The pastry top was flaky, but the filling was so sparse that I was still hungry. The taste was okay, but I will not buy again. It was a very big disappointment.
Worst pot pie ever tasted. Will never buy again. Want a refund, but that option does not seem to exist. App is not customer friendly any more. It's about taste not about a photo of the food. Tasted the first one threw the rest away. Am throwing the other one away unopened. It is shameful that a photo would show the quality of food. You are primarily a grocery store.
Love these but one missing from my order and when I chatted with WM “fraud violation “ appeared. I order all the time and once in a while something is missing but to say it's fraud makes me not want to order again. But for the record. They r delicious!
