Blaupunkt AUSTIN 440 7-In. Single-DIN DVD Receiver with Bluetooth

I've had this unit installed for about two weeks now and I feel I've experienced enough to give my review. First off this isn't the Blaupunkt you might remember from years back. I was a huge Blaupunkt fan before Bosch sold them off and they eventually went under. Therefore I was a bit hesitant to give the new iteration of Blaupunkt a try. Thankfully I did. Its clear the new owners are aware of the name that Blaupunkt carries. It's not the high end stuff from years back, but it still packs great quality for it's inexpensive price range. The only complaint I have is the screen isn't as bright as my old Pioneer unit, but that unit cost almost 4 times the price. Surprisingly though the Blaupunkt seems to offer equal if not better sound quality especially when using Bluetooth. The software could be a bit better, but it's nothing deal breaking. If you're looking for an inexpensive alternative to the Kenwood's and Pioneers without sacrificing sound quality you won't go wrong here.

My son purchased a 2013 Jeep so we couldn't wait to see how the Blaupunkt Austin 440 would work. We aren't the most mechanically inclined people so we did the next best thing... Contacted a friend who is! He put it in at a discounted rate for us and its awesome! He did tell us it was so simple we literally could have done it in about a half hours time. The worst thing about it is not watching it as you drive!! The sound is fantastic, I can hear him three blocks away! It takes up very little space and the fact it detaches for hiding away is something we have yet to do but its great to know its there. The remote is kind of over kill since you're right there most of the time.. But be at a picnic and someone wants to hear music.. You're the hero! And then to be able to skip the not so well liked songs, like I said, we love it!

Blaupunkt has been around since 1924. With all those years in the industry you can trust your buying a qualuty radio for your vehicle. The model the Austin 440 has a removable face plate so your radio can not function wirhout it. Thieves will see this and not bother trying to steal it! It has blue toorh, a function that will list your missed phone calls, out going calls and incoming calls as well. The dvd feature will keep the kids entertained with a movie on their car rides. With the usb you can connect it to other devices for unlimited music selection too. I don't think you could ask for more in a radio!! I highly recommend the Blaupunkt Austin 440 radio for everyone!! All the wires are clearly marked so installation isn't difficult if your handy.

I love it. I haven't used it to watch moves or put SD Cards in it. The Bluetooth works great, the stereo was in the box and slipped out of my hand hit the ground, the screen works perfectly everything works perfectly I just need new speakers. I Recommend it!

Works great! The kids love being able to watch movies anytime.

This is a nice radio with many nice features such as bluetooth, rear camera support, support for GPS, plays Cd's and dvd's plus the normal am/fm channels. And a removable face plate as well. The down side was that for my husbands truck we had to purchase an interface module and mounting kit. That was $187.00 plus $140.00 for professional installation. So far, my husband is happy and trying to set it up and learn how to use all features. (We just got the truck back earlier today). What I do hope is that he doesn't have some of the same problems other people have had with theirs and that being professionally installed will possibly make the difference. We do not do electronics installations and prefer to leave it to the professionals. The Blaupunkt name brand has been around for quite some time and I hope that it lasts for many years to come. This system seems to be everything you could want in a car receiver. However, I must admit that we could not find a way to install it in our older vehicles. It just doesn't fit in our dash. Did try wiring it up just to see how it would have worked. Sound was great, picture was ok. The mini remote is very small and difficult for these senior eyes. I am sure my grandsons would love this unit, but for me it goes back in the box (or maybe the car fairy will give me a newer car to install it in).

Worked great for about 2 months, then people started hanging up cause mic wasn't working. Face plate for some reason isn't lining up, hit a button, it just does what it wants, won't deal w/ this one again

It's a piece of junk! display screen stop working after 2 months! will never buy Blaupunkt again!

I loved this unit until it burned up in 3 weeks dont buy this unit its no good
