This table is supposed to seat up to 10 people, it won't. It will seat 6 comfortably and you might could possible squeeze 8 in. The problem is the design, With the design of the legs of the table there is not enough room to put two chairs in between the legs and be able to scoot up to the table to eat (6-10 more inches in the middle would have made a major difference). Very disappointed, wanting to seat 10 was the only reason for replacing my very good, sturdy oak table. I would return but it would be too much trouble to take apart and pack back up so basically I'm stuck with it. For the price if you want to seat 6 people or squeeze in 8 it would be ok.
As far as the assembly, my son in law put it together in 2.5 hours, he hated all the small parts but thankfully he's very good at that kind of stuff.
PS: pictures aren't very descriptive but the one picture is as far as two chairs will go in the middle of the table.
