I bought this a few weeks ago for my middle child. She really wanted something simalar to a smart phone like my oldest and I have where she can listen to music, play games, read, draw, and take pictures. This does it all! I was so excited but not as much as she was. She has played with it daily and it has helped to improve her reading. My youngest now wants on and I am planning to get it for her for christmas!

Best toy ever!

NamaDiane November 14, 2010

I bought this for my grandson's third birthday a few weeks ago. He absolutely loves it! He calls it his "book" and wants it with him all of the time. I put a 4 GB memory card in, and he has his favorite music and photos available. My only gripe -- the device is definitely a right-handed toy. Most of the time, it doesn't matter, since you turn the toy for some of the functions. But, when tracing the alphabet, Tyler tends to turn the book upside down, with the stylus on the left.

Where was this when I was raising my own kids!

Veill January 12, 2011

I bought this for my granddaughter and grandson. They LOVE IT! Its easy to use the program from the computer. Even I can do it and I'm a gramma. The children have different interest and skill levels, but this toy meets both childrens needs. I just bought some additional games so I will see how this expands the their unit. Any gramma's out there, buy this toy and you be a hit with the children and their parents because it is fun and EDUCATIONAL.

Awesome Product

kidzrus December 3, 2010

I bought my son this iXL for his 4th birthday it's awesome, he hasn't put it down! The only thing I would say is I wish the string for the pen was longer. He just got a game with it, which is cool, because there is no game cartridge. You download a cd to your computer and transfer the game to the iXL. So no more lost games or games getting damaged from taking them in and out. The only other thing is that I feel the games are a little pricey for what they are. If you don't have a computer you wouldn't be able to use the iXL everything is done on the computer. A trick too that I have done is get coloring pages off the internet and save them to my computer and then tranfer the files on the iXL so now he can color any coloring page he wants. I really recommend this product. I just bought one for my nieces for Christmas too!

Extremely durable, easy to use.

wsad November 7, 2011

This thing is pretty durable. Our two boys drag it around by the pen, drop it on the ground, slam it against walls and are just not very gentle with it. We have most of the games for it which seem to hold their interest along with the reader and photos you can load on there (to make funny drawings on)

loving the iXL

GrammyYaYa November 20, 2011

I bouught the iXL for my grandson who lives with me for his 4th birthday. He is VERY active. This toy is one of the few items that will hold his intrest for more than a few minutes. It is great for trips, Dr. offices, etc. He is learning and increasing motor skills while having lots of fun. The only draw back so for is the battery usage. We are going to get the charging station as soon as we can find it! Love that we can download pictures and music. It is expandable.

Great for kids!!

Girlfriend October 4, 2010

I purchased a pink ixl for my 4 year old friend who is very adept at operating other computer related products, including my iPAD and Nintendo DXL. The ixl stylis is very thick for such small pictures, making it difficult to be accurate. It would also be great if there were a way to save artwork done on the unit it would be fabulous. My friend loves looking back at her creations. Otherwise - she absolutely loves it.

Sucks Batteries

Allothernicknamestaken October 17, 2010

My 3 1/2 yr old daughter LOVES her iXL! It really holds her attention and is great at keeping her busy at the doctors office, in the shopping cart or just on long car rides. BUT - we're going through 4 AA batteries a day! It would be better if it was designed with a rechargable battery pack.

I have not used this item yet as it is going to be a Christmas gift. I have loaded music and pictures on it and that seems to be very easy to do. I did play with the game for a couple of minutes and it seems like it is going to be a good investment for my 4 year old. I will let you know after Christmas how good it really is.

It's not bad

Circa May 9, 2011

My son turned 3 January 2011, and got the iXL for Christmas 2010. It's a great little system. Well built. Stands up. My son knew how to play it from day one. I love that the games are downloaded onto the system so I don't fear losing a game, or going on a road trip and not having the game he wants. That all being said, I'm very disappointed in the selection of games out for the iXL. My son has been on a computer since before one year, and playing an ipod since 2. He's mastered the games he does have for his iXL, and doesn't really touch it much. The games never change, and he gets bored with it. It's for a right handed person only. Sure, when it's turned, you can use your left hand, but to use the writing part, you must use your right hand. It's rated for 3 to 7 years, but I can not see how a 5 or 6 year old would like these games for long. We are already talking about upgrading him this Christmas.
