easy installation but make sure that you filter the water onto the ground when you start the pump up because excess sand will be blown back into the pool otherwise--very quiet and efficient for a 15,000 gallon pool--also follow instructions on filling the sand only three quarters of the way full in the tank to have top efficiency in filtering the water correctly
Works so good. I highly recommend this pump.
I purchased this item for my pool it's an 18x42 pool and it took it from slim green to crystal clear withing the first 24 hrs of running. we rinsed the sand ever few hrs but well worth it to see the water finally getting clear. my husband use to set up pools so the installation was easy didnt take any adapters to fit our pool. it's been running ever since and we do minimal maintenance to our pool.
I didn't give it a five because it doesn't have an on and off switch. I have a 21'*41'oval pool that came with one of these which isn't strong enough for that size pool so I bought another filter place across from it to help circulate water better and no complaints. My pool hold over 20,000 gallon's of water and I think this size filter can only properly filter 10,000. With the extra filter my pool is clean and clear and I've had no issues with over heating or an over worked filter. I can run it for the recommended time and actually have a clean pool to swim in. Hayward might need to adjust the size of pool this filter should work with but other than that and adding an on and off switch to unit. I'm Happy with product.
When I spend this amount of money on an item, I expect it to come with instructions that give me everything I need to know in order to set up and operate the item. This item came with one "booklet" of instructions that BARELY covered the set up and connection of the items. Some of the instructions were just outright wrong as it instructs you to take off items that weren't installed or to install items that were already connected. There were absolutely NO instructions on how to operate the system and how all of the settings on the filter were supposed to be operated. The connections for this filter are NOT universal. We had to make several adapter changes in order to get the filter hoses to connect to our 16' X 32' Intex pool. Since this item is NOT stocked in store, there is no way to go back to the store and get any additional information needed. I'll be buying all of my future pool needs from a pool store where I can get the instructions and help I need.
Not only does this system not have an on/off switch (has to be unplugged) it cannot even handle vacuuming the whole pool in one shot before overheating. It has to be back washed on a continuous basis even after just running for general maintenance. We even order higher than the recommended horsepower to be sure it would clean more efficiently.
One month of use now don't work
