If you read the title, it says this is the conversion kit only. So if you order it and get the conversion kit only, don't be mad. Order the rod holder and it will work just fine without this, but if you need/want to make a smaller hole then this is what you will need. Works great!

This item is a conversion kit and not the actual rod holding system. You use it along with the rodbuckle system to get a low profile. I have a Z-7 and the normal size rodbuckle is too big for the gunwall. You have to assemble it behind the gunwall. I came through my storage area. The clip that keeps the strap from coming through is cheap. I just used a screwdriver to hold the strap. A roatary took works best to cut out holes.

I was ordering a rodbuckel with tie down strap. This was only a conversion kit. Pieces of plastic. I can see where a conversion kit would work but i already have conversion kit on my boat. No where in the description does it show its conversion. Or the pics of what ur actually buying

Description is terrible. This is a conversion kit. I thought I was buying a replacement that I currently have (the spring broke in my old one).
