High quality, conventionally bred, non-GMO oats that lose their sharp, annoying hulls during the growing cycle as they mature. Packed with a higher serving of protein than average, over-processed oats, this product has cooked to a perfect texture every time. It also works great as overnight oats . Thank you for stocking a brand of oats from an ethical company.
BEST protein oatmeal there is, if you're looking for plain oatmeal that you can “dress” up the way you like it! It says to cook it on the stove, but I do it in the microwave. Make sure your bowl is deep enough so the oatmeal doesn't overflow.
Didn't even know that Bob's Red Mill made a High Protein Version. Found it right here at Walmart, they actually have a great selection of products that you don't see at other stores.
Bob's Red Mill is a wonderful brand and I've never had a problem with anything I've purchased from them, until this one. It was full of hulls. I was constantly spitting out plastic-feeling hulls from overnight oats made with this product. Really disappointed.
I would give this five stars if it weren't full of hulls. I add two tablespoons of this to a bowl before adding my Oats Overnight. EVERY time I have to go through and pick out all the inedible hulls before adding the OO, otherwise I have to spit them out as I'm eating. At first I thought I got a bad bag, but this also happened with the second bag bought months later.
I was really impressed by the protein count of this oatmeal and even went as far as researching the manufacturers website to make sure that it wasn't a typo. I tried it a few times after purchasing it. The main part of the oatmeal seems just like any other rolled oat, but it takes longer to cook. Unfortunately, there are lots of little parts of the husk from the oat grain that haven't been removed during processing. These little bits floated up to the top of your oatmeal as you can see in my pictures. When you accidentally eat one, they are really difficult to chew and tend to get stuck in your teeth. I eventually gave up in frustration and put the remainder of the bag in the bird feeder. If they didn't have these inedible parts of the plant in the mix, I would be fine with the taste and texture. Perhaps they get their "more protein" claim by processing the grain less and this is a side effect.
Great concept with the extra protein, but these oats are so full of hulls, they are very unpleasant to eat! Just called the company, and of course they act like I'm the only person on earth who has experienced this problem, but I see from all of these reviews, that many people have had the same experience across multiple batches. I'm not going to purchase these again for awhile, and hopefully they address the issue. Three bites in and I'm picking six or seven hulls out of my mouth or they're in my teeth. It's disgusting. Feels like plastic in your mouth.
This is full of hulls. I looked up other reviews online and others have complained about the same thing. Absolutely inedible as the hulls are present in every bite.
I love this protein oatmeal but something was terribly wrong with this bag of oatmeal. I kept spitting out a hard like shell from the oatmeal. It couldn't be chewed. It was like trying to chew thin plastic but it was from the oatmeal. I ordered more but from Sam's and it was perfect like it always has been. I'm going to return this bag.
As many here have said, these protein oats are full of hulls. If you don't know what hulls are, it's the hard outer shell part of oats that aren't necessarily enjoyable or meant for eating. I had part of a bowl of this and am throwing the rest away.
