Pretty good for a grain free gluten free brownie. Good and chocolatey! I used an 11 x 7 glass pan sprayed with parchment in the bottom to remove easily. Baked for 20 minutes. Used my frosting leftover from the cake mix! We like thin brownies & these were about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Thanks, Bob!
SOLVING THE SWEET TOOTH PROBLEM Bob's Red Mill is one of my favorite brands because they offer creative and healthful food products. I grew up during the rise of health food stores, and I'm grateful for the food choices my mother made when I was a kid. There were, however, far fewer choices of desserts that were actually delicious. Bob's Red Mill is a leader in this important culinary direction. If we are to solve the health epidemics caused by bad foods, we must make delicious alternatives. As long as the cheap and toxic "food" that fills our grocery stores is more palatable than the healthy alternatives, our people will continue to make themselves sick with the food they eat.
This is the best gluten free brownie mix ever! The only problem is it's hard to stop eating them so be sure you have friends around to share them with. Even my friends who don't have to be gluten free enjoy them. I made the melted butter version but substituted one stick of butter with 4 ounces of unsweetened apple sauce. Delicious!
You can even eat the mix right from the package, it is as if you are eating the final baked brownie!! You say I am bluffing, try it! This is how good it is. In my idea, you don't need any egg, oil or just make your batter with water, milk or if you want a better texture, use egg white.
I was simply amazed how well this mix gets the texture and taste of a brownie. The main ingredient is coconut sugar, so it's a little bit too sweet than my liking, but not in a sickening way. The brownies don't raise too much, maybe half of what the packaging shows (also depends on the pan). But the mix yields a fudgey deliciousness, slightly sticky, slightly crumbly, with a rich dark chocolate taste.
This is a great brownie mix for anyone looking to try some alternatives to wheat flour in their baked goods. You get a dense, chewy texture and a wonderful flavor from the almond and cassava flours. I used eggs and coconut oil in my first batch. Looking forward to tasting the vegan version with their egg replacer.
I can't say enough great things about Bob's Red Mill Natural Foods Grain Free Brownie Mix. Having never made brownies before, I was nervous. These were really quick and easy though! I was blown away by how much they tasted like regular brownies, they were so delicious! Made with wholesome, minimal ingredients, these brownies are not only Gluten-Free, but they are Grain-Free, Paleo Friendly and Non-GMO. A healthy alternative with all the chocolatey goodness!
Really moist and very chocolatey. It's texture is a bit different but not unexpected for a non grain based mix. We used oil and it made it really moist. I may try one of the other options next time though but it was all I had on hand.
These brownies were just ok. I followed the directions exactly, and used vegetable oil, but they were just too oily. Also as a grain free, gluten free mix, almond flour is a main ingredient and in this mix it is just too coarse. Actually had to chew up almond bits when eating the brownies. This mix is probably a better option for someone who wants zero grains, but I will stick to gluten free brownies that use GF flour.
I wanted so badly to like these. They were super easy to make which I appreciated. Only called for two other ingredients and whipped up in one bowl. They were also very moist. However, I used coconut oil as the recipe called for and it was very overpowering. I would suggest using butter or regular vegetable oil. They also had a very grainy and dense texture that my husband and I just didn't like. Unfortunately I would not purchase these.
