Love this coffee press! We’ve tired it with hot and iced coffee and both were great. It takes a little tweaking to figure out how much coffee to use, depends on your taste. Once we got the servings right, coffee results were great! No grinds in the coffee which I was really worried about. Best part is it’s plastic! My other one was glass and I was always extra careful.

I was intimidated by French Press Coffee Makers, so I had never attempted to use one or try coffee from one. I typically use a coffee maker that uses coffee pods. I was very surprised that the coffee maker was so user-friendly. It was also very easy to clean, which I found to be a positive attribute.

We rented an inexpensive apartment with a small kitchen on the edge of the Caribbean for several weeks. We knew it did not have a coffee maker. This was small enough to fit in our checked bags and had an unbreakable carafe. We use a french press every day at home, so this was an easy transition for us. We just needed to bring ground coffee and boil water. The carafe has become a bit scratched with use and cleaning, but it does not effect the final product when we brew.

We use general coffee every day. Nothing high end. I have used a few French Presses now. I wasn't sure at first about this one. I didn't realize the pot was actually plastic. The boiling water when added should make a nice head of foam. This one actually foamed more then my glass French Press. Awesome. Next I noticed another nice feature. The lid has an extra screen. Coffee grounds still escape all the time because the filter cannot catch the grounds stuck to the pot at the very top. This is a really nice addition. My coffee is super hot and tasty. The entire set is dishwasher safe. Nice. The longevity of the plastic is yet to be determined. I have to think the excessive heat will eventually make the plastic brittle and crack. When I bought this I thought only the lid was made of plastic but it is the entire coffee maker that is made of plastic. This was not clear in the description. However, it seems to be safe plastic. I have had 2 of these before of the glass kind and I managed to chip both so I am hoping this will be more durable. It makes decent coffee and it is easy to wash.

So I have had french press before and I ended up with so much grounds in it that I couldn't drink it. This was a much better experience and I enjoyed it a bit more. I will definitely use this Bodum a lot more! The thing I really liked about it is the press has a good seal inside the carafe, which helped with the grounds. I also really liked the extra filter in the spout. This is definitely great quality and looks classy too! So happy with this coffee maker!

Like some other reviews said, it leaks grounds. I had good experiences with another glass Bodum French Press, when it broke when I accidentally slammed it against the counter, I knew I had to get another Bodum. Found this on Walmart.com, despite those negative reviews, I thought those must be noise, because my old one worked. I was wrong. Because of the flask is plastic, they cannot use the same metal mesh plunger, but replaced it with a plunger with a silicone edge. That's the fatal error. You can see from the pictures how bad the leaks got. It will probably work if you drop your whole beans in. Had to return this and got something else.

The GLASS items with Plastic top, was shipped in a envelope??? The top was broken , See picture. If it was shipped in a BOX -- it would have likely been fine.

I did not realize Bodum made plastic beakers, so I am returning. I thought the plastic in title was just referring to the white parts, but the beaker is also plastic. I am not putting my amazing coffee in plastic. Sorry Bodum and WalMart. It also just seemed a little cheaper than the typical Bodum press overall.
