This little contraption is amazing! I've never ever ever had french press coffee before. I've danced around trying it out but I just didn't want the hassle. I decided to give it a spin. Oh my Gosh, this is so easy to use. I bought an electric kettle (first one I've owned). Making coffee is such a delight now. Goodbye boring coffee pot. Hello french press and electric kettle! Just fill that kettle with water, scoop out your coffee into your French press. The water will be boiled in under 5 minutes and you'll be ready to pour hot boiling water into your press. Stir that amazing grounded goodness. Put the lid on. Don't push down just yet. Ya gotta wait a few minutes for it to "seep". Slowly push down on that press. Get those grounds squished nice and good. Slowly pour into your mug/cup and enjoy that froth. Yes, there's froth! Add your sugar/milk/creamer/flavor, what ever floats your boat. Enjoy your first amazing cup of French press coffee. It's so simple to use and easy to clean. This particular model has a plastic carafe. The press slides down smooth and tight. Sure, you may get some stray grounds. But hey, it's coffee!
I am a huge coffee fan! I love black coffee so I was really excited to try this method. I currently have a pod coffee maker. I know temperature is a big deal so I made hot water with my pod coffee maker in order to brew with the French Press. The only thing that I didn't have was coarse ground coffee. I am impatient so I decided to use the regular ground coffee. The whole process was surprisingly short! I did not get grounds in my coffee like I thought I would since I used a finer grind but there was some sediment at the bottom of my cup. The flavor, while not as rich as the pod maker (I probably didn't use the right amount of grounds), was still pretty good! I would definitely recommend and next time I will use the coarse ground coffee.
I use this press with fresh ground coffee from my grinder. So simple and fast. I have a perfect cup of coffee in about 4 minutes that tastes like a 5 dollar cup! Beautiful glass container and easy to use press filter and lid. I can make about 2 cups max or one single. Simply put in coffee, hot water, stir and let sit about 4 minutes. Press and add what you like and drink. Flavor is amazing! I recommend highly...
I bought thinking of my days off, cozy morning coffee. I used to use the big press to prepare coffee but I was not able to calculate the exact amount of water that was needed. Also, as this press coffee maker is a little it doesn't make too much space. and as I use it weekly it is good not to have a big jar always outside. If you want to use it only for 2 small cups or 1 mug, this is your press, if you want more, buy the bigger one. Both I have are Bodum and they are great.
Love this coffee press! We’ve tired it with hot and iced coffee and both were great. It takes a little tweaking to figure out how much coffee to use, depends on your taste. Once we got the servings right, coffee results were great! No grinds in the coffee which I was really worried about. Best part is it’s plastic! My other one was glass and I was always extra careful.
Bodum 8 Cup Caffettiera French Press Coffee Maker is easy to use and makes delicious coffee. I was able to make coffee quickly and the directions were easy to follow. It comes with a scoop to measure grounds and the filter is built into the lid making it compact and efficient. Great all around French Press for beginner or expert brewers.
Skeptical at first, because I have tried those super expensive presses in the past. However, this one is like the little engine that could. This works and it works well. It gives you great tasting coffee, but it does not break the bank. This has become my go to press recently and it provides me with a great cup each day.
Like some other reviews said, it leaks grounds. I had good experiences with another glass Bodum French Press, when it broke when I accidentally slammed it against the counter, I knew I had to get another Bodum. Found this on Walmart.com, despite those negative reviews, I thought those must be noise, because my old one worked. I was wrong. Because of the flask is plastic, they cannot use the same metal mesh plunger, but replaced it with a plunger with a silicone edge. That's the fatal error. You can see from the pictures how bad the leaks got. It will probably work if you drop your whole beans in. Had to return this and got something else.
The GLASS items with Plastic top, was shipped in a envelope??? The top was broken , See picture. If it was shipped in a BOX -- it would have likely been fine.
Don't buy this model. I have been buy and using Bodum products for decades and never have I bought one that worked this bad out of the box. The plunger lets loads of coffee grinds past the plunger no matter how slow you press the coffee. Maybe the more expensive models are better but don't waist your time with this one!
