There is not much to go wrong with this rack. Yes, it is on the light weight side. Can move when bumped into. It feels solid to use and adjusts easily. Good for the average strength trainer. I use this with safety stands that I owned already. They are built heavier.
I have purchased 4 of these for a CrossFit gym and they work fine. The are stable enough to use for presses or squats. The only down side is that place where the bar sets. It is a little small. As far as value goes you cannot go wrong. Eventually we will have squat/press racks welded for us but in the meantime this is a great in between. It does not move and is very stable.
Hey, it's a cheap rack. But it gets the job done. We have 6 at my small fitness club and never had a problem. If your squatting over 400 lbs. then get something different for sure, but I have used this up to 325 lbs. and had no problems. I bought for price and easy to move around... the larger ones are very hard to move out of the way when not in use.
I own a small fitness facility with about 80 customers. I have had these racks about 3 weeks. We use these racks at least 3 times a week with up to 110 KG/250 lbs. The only problem that I have found is that the opening for the bar is a little narrow. Customers and trainers need instruction on how to use the rack safely, i.e. bar goes all the way to the back of the holder then down.
