Better than plastic, but has several issues.
It's a OK kite for kids, color and design are nice, but I've had much better constructed kites for about the same price from manufacturers who put more care into construction. The line that comes with it is a loosely twisted line. I wouldn't trust it too much in a strong breeze. A tightly braided line is safer and stronger. The attachment point for the line on the keel should be reinforced. It's just a small nylon loop with a few sturdy stitches. The kite sail itself seems strong and light, with good seams. The plastic ring supporting the windsock is crushed and deformed from the packaging, and the swivel attaching the kite tail cord to the windsock is a small, cheap, cast pot metal keyring clasp. I'd use a large steel fishing swivel with a clip. Noticed while typing this that the spine rod appears to have been stuffed in through a slit in the kite sail. There are two slits in the long pocket for the spine to be inserted after the kite was sewn. It should be sewn in when the kite is assembled and fully enclosed.
