Bonanza: The Official First Season Volumes 1 & 2

I didn't watch these shows as a child. I am enjoying them for the first time as an adult.

I received both volumes of season 1 for Christmas, and was very ecstatic. I fell in love with Bonanza as a freshman in high school, and have loved it ever since. Five years later, I am loving watching the Cartwrights run their ranch and kick outlaw butt just as much. I am a huge fan of classic tv, but Bonanza tops my list. There is no other show that can compare. As for the quality of these DVDs, I have no complaints. They are as clean and crisp as a show that debuted in 1959 could possibly look, with some cool interviews with David Dortort on the cast. There is the awesome alternate pilot ending (which I'd always heard about but never seen 'til now) and certain episodes have pictures and episode promos to enjoy. The disks are plain, just a nice silvery hue with BONANZA Disk 1 and so on printed on each. The main menus are very nice, with the same scene playing silently on each while the Bonanza theme plays full out. There is also a Cartwright in the corner of each. When you click an episode, if there's no bonus material, the episode will just start playing. If there is, it will take you to another menu, with a different Cartwright on it, and the options to look at the photos, play the promo (if there is one) or play the episode. My one complaint is the price. Didn't we fans wait long enough for these to come out on legitimate DVDs? The price of these is a bit intimidating, but well worth it. Overall, a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful set!

This was a gift for my daughter who is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The programs are very good quality in both sound and picture. It is very helpful to bring back pleasant memories to those bedridden patients....

I enjoyed watching the TV series of Bonanza, thank you for having it, In 2013 I wanted the tv series of Bonanza and it was sold out so this time I hurry up and purchase it,and glad I did .

The show itself I would give 10 stars it's great I love it, BUT the DVD's won't play in my players some of the disks won't even pop up the menu and some of them skip a lot which makes it hard to watch the show it looks like I wasted my money btw my players are clean

I only watch tyhe frist three dics in season 1, however the picture and sound had a little problem in section.
