Bonide Bat Magic Animal Repellent

They are STRONG in odor, but it's essential oils combined with corn cobs in a large "tea bag" to safely placed where needed. I would buy & recommend it because they get the job done. Between, it's a 4 pack. We've used the same 2 for at least 4 months now. We have 2 spaces.

We were excited to have this product recommended to us. With it, friends had had great success in keeping bats from outside their place for over a year (even though the box says for indoor use). We had outside success, too--for two whole nights. We think the bags dried up in those two nights. We saw one of the ingredients was peppermint oil, and since we had some (that we had successfully used for spiders), we mixed up 8 drops to a cup of water and sprayed the Bat Magic bags every night. That worked...or it has so far, for four nights. We love that bats eat bugs, but why do they have to do it at our front door/window (under our porch) and leave their half-eaten bugs, plus their poop and pee behind? Bat Magic ingredients were ground-up corn cobs with peppermint oil and spearmint oil. Why not make your own bags? Like I said, we've had success without the spearmint oil. We bought two boxes of Bat Magic and could have saved the $17.50 if we'd known.

This product is exactly as stated, but it will not help get rid of bats in any meaningful way. Please do not purchase, do not waste your money. Sound and smell repellants are ineffective, as are poisons (also probably illegal most places). Seal up whatever openings they are using. It can be a pain but the only reliable long-term solution.

Needed to protect an area about 6 feet x 6 feet, placed 2 bags in that area, and the bats still came back.

Bats were haning on my outside attic louvers and were still hanging on them after I put 2 boxes on the louver ledge. I finally had contractor cover my louvers to keep off louvers and that worked!
