Mahogany July 2, 2025

This plant was great. It's growing very vague. I decided to plant it upside down and the plant is maybe almost a foot and a half tall I really like the purple leaves and it taste great. I use mushroom biochar soil for all my plants especially this one.

This is a very resilient basil

Jeana November 1, 2025

This basil smells as good as it tastes. Not long after buying and planting this, the caterpillar apocalypse happened. I was worried that it wouldn't survive, so I took a clone and it was beautiful. The mother plant did end up surviving and it was great until yesterday....when I did the final harvest. I took a clipping and I'm waiting for roots to form so this basil can live on.

Purple Basil

Annette May 23, 2026

Great little plant. I put it out on my patio and within a few days repotted to a container just a bit larger. It is growing great and has wonderful aroma.

Purple basil

anonymous July 5, 2025

It's not doing as well as the green basil. Not sure why. I cut it down and it seems like a be growing some now. It seems like my mint cross bred with it because I have some purple green mint now. I contained the mint, but it reached over to the basil.

Bonnie plants are great

beth May 11, 2025

I was surprised that this plant came un packaged as opposed to other Bonnie plants I've purchased from Walmart. I know Bonnie plants are good quality so I was a little bummed this guy does not look too great amd has brown spots on most of the leaves. I took the picture after removing the most brown leaves. Hopefully the plant is ok and perks up!

Very disappointed

Anonymous March 6, 2026

Very disappointed. Completely dry and leaves just limp and dry. I expected more from Bonnie Plants.

I'M NOT SITE WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH OPENED THIS YEAR. I HAVE ORDERED 19 TO 24 IN %26 GOTTEN 6 INCH. IT'S CRAZY TO THINK WE ARE PAYING FOR SUCH YOUNG PLANTS EVEN THE SIZES ARE LISTED. THIS IS THE 5TH SET TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN. 1 LITTLE TINY STEM IN A PLASTIC CUP. IT IS RIDICULOUS %26 A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY.

The plant pictured is not the plant you get. It arrived at about 3 straggley inches tall and wilted. Broke me from ordering live plants from Walmart. Definitely not worth the money.

While it was plenty moist when I got it (pickup order), one of the 2 stems was dead within 2 days and the other half died 5 days later (soil never went dry), yet apparently the cutoff to return it was the day it was picked up??? Tired of getting bad produce.

Seedling vs an actual plant

Rosa June 12, 2025

I thought I was buying a plant with some growth. Instead I received a plant with 2 leaves and barely out of the soil. when you pay almost $5 for basil, you expect, based on the pictures, that you'll get an actual plant and not a seedling.
