Plants were healthy and in great shape when they were delivered. Planted them same day and they grew quickly with minimal effort. Tasted great and lasted throughout the summer. Very hardy plants--I forgot to water them a few times and bounced back to life quickly.
This red romaine lettuce looked like it would be a great addition to fresh salads, so I thought I'd try it. All six plants were in great shape! The foliage is deep in color, and the leaves were about 5 inches tall. The red and green colors are very appealing in a tossed salad, on burgers, or used in lettuce wraps. Besides being easy to grow, this lettuce is chocked full of vitamins and minerals. Very pleased with this season's greens at Walmart. The price was reasonable and the taste is great. slightly sweet with a little crunch. My six plants have been planted about a week and have grown at least an inch already. I plan to get another six pack in a couple weeks staggering the planting for extended harvest time.
I had so much more luck growing lettuce from these starts than I did from seed. Grew really well, didn't bolt easily, and tasted great!
Nice, healthy 6 pack to add to my little garden. Well taken care of, no wilting or brown spots. Super fresh!
beautiful flowering lettuce
I liked the size and health of the plants. Problem was, the employee whom picked the 3 - 6 pks for my online order, selected packs with a maximum of four plants per 6 pk for a total of 11 plants when I had paid for 18 plants.
so far they have been a bit slow to take root. may add fertilizer this week. all in all, these tender seedlings were bright and vibrant with healthy looking roots
It's growing beautifully
Maricopa, Arizona, needs to plant spring plantings long before spring. By spring, we have summer temperatures, which kill new plantings. Walmart carries nice plants in spring; it just needs to carry them sooner, to give the plants a better chance to survive our record-breaking heat, which arrives a few weeks before spring. The first day of spring it was over a hundred... Walmart could easily sell spring plants in late winter, giving Maricopa gardens a better chance to survive.
well the two living plants out of the 6 pack were fine. whoever picked them for delivery just grabbed anything. 2 were dead and the others were empty. had died and disappeared. no problem with the plants it's the packer/picker that did a sorry job
