This tomato plant grew like crazy from seed I got 8 plants. Huge tomatoes and they have a great flavor. Yes oddly shaped but its a good one! The plants grew over 6' tall I recently pruned them and they are still producing. East Texas soil with amending we added goat poo and sawdust to our compost bins this year I think that must be the difference in production.
In 2017, I grew 6 different tomato plants and the Beefmaster was my favorite. It not only out produced the other strains, but the flavor was spectacular! It was the favorite of everyone who I shared with too. Oddly shaped, but who cares when the flavor is so great! We sliced them and used them on sandwiches, salads, etc... and diced them for salsa.
I grew this type last year and loved them and the size of fruit is huge. Very meaty delicious will grow these again next Spring.
This is the first year i have planted these. All my friends are already getting tomatoes;mid july befor i seen first baby maters.. But they are popping out all over the plant and it is about 4 feet tall and smells so good hope the fruit matches the smell!
Yeah, they give huge amounts of fruit. Rodents love 'em too. :( But the taste of the beefmasters...... great! :) :););)
The plants are doing great, but all the tomato's are horribly odd shaped. Some look like two and three tomatoes trying to grow together. I am going to let them grow but so far disappointed. I grow in 5 gallon buckets in a “greenhouse” setting.
I have have my plants in 5 gal buckets for a couple of month now. I have plenty of green tomatoes but they all have brown spots on them and not turning red. Not sure what is going on but very disappointed. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
The soil is sandy here, but i planted 4 of these and added some potting soil and have fertilized. After a couple months, only a few tomatoes growing and the ripe ones are all or partly rotted so far. Now, i planted 2 Bonnie's which I believe were the Big Beef variety and they are doing great, much larger, with many tomatoes and healthy. these were planted at the same time.
