After looking at similar variations of this stool, I chose this one in cream. It arrived in 3 days. I assembled it yesterday. It is perfect for what I need it for. An extra seat at the counter and step stool for my kitchen. The 24" height is perfect for a counter height island. The color is a very subtle cream, almost white. The steps are close enough together that it is a comfortable and easy step up. My 220lb husband stepped up and it supported him with ease. The hardware was well organized and marked clearly and the instructions, which I noticed was an issue with serval other models on Wayfair, were easy to follow. You can assemble this with the tool provided and a small "hammer" to hammer the wooden plugs. They said a screwdriver was necessary for 2 screws with pre-drilled holes, but I found a drill to work best (but not necessary if you are strong enough). However, in doing so, I over tightened and split the dowel slightly (still perfectly usable). Those 2 screws are the only reason I gave assembly a 4star. This was the least expensive stool of its kind I found, and it met all my expectations! *Please note that the steps do not tuck all the way under the seat. and the depth of the stool is about 14"
Very sturdy. A step-stool for the times you need to get something up high, but it is pretty enough that you don't need to hide it away in a closet all the time. A bonus, for me, is that the 24" height is the same as my counter stools so that , in a pinch, I can use the step stool as an extra counter stool .
It has been a long time since I've seen something constructed with this quality and this level of instructions and care. This was packed superbly. There was no way any of it was gonna be broken in shipping. The instructions were amazing not something out of a Third World country and the quality was also very nice. It looks as pictured.
This stool is beautifully made and sturdy. It is also attractive.
It's perfect
Although a little challenging to assemble, It is perfect. Looks very expensive and fits well sitting out in our kitchen. Not afraid to put all you weight on it, very stable. I looked at many other products and no other compares for build, price, and looks.
OK, first I love this step stool. It is a great height and is super sturdy. My only complaints are the directions (very poor) and lack of pre drilled holes. I have put a lot of furniture together. I am an avid Ikea buyer and other items of such and consider myself pretty handy with medium hard projects but the directions read or don't read in a way that is very helpful. First parts list and directions are literally all on one page and lacking detail of what you will need to put together and even forgets to mentions certain parts, even though you know what they are it would be nice if listed or mention if I should use glue (which I did). I had one part that look liked someone drilled the holes on the wrong side and filled it in, (didn't look bad but still?) The little small steps (and others) are not pre drilled and the directions fail to tell you really how to line them up. There are about 4 pictures just pretty much telling you to do like 10 things and your done. No tips on lining up, if you should tighten all the way or wait, no mention if you are to drill holes or why it isn't pre drilled. It took me a few tries to loosen screws and re tighten to get it to sit level. The wood is really hard (a good thing I guess) and some connections are in an awkward spot with no predrilled holes and so I had a problem with screws stripping before I could get it together. Even after predrilling one hole I still had one screw head screw right off (I left it as it was). When I was done it was great! Loved the brown look and I feel very comfortable using it. Just know it takes a little know how to understand putting it together and must be strong because a power tool may not fit in all spots. (I am a girl but I don't usually have a problem being strong enough for a small project like this). If it is what you are looking for go for it but take your time putting it together and understanding what directions do come with it.
Love the natural wood color but disappointed I didn't notice that it doesn't fold flush within itself like the stool I now have. Will have to be extra careful storing it under our island not to bump it. I do like the floor protectors.
It was weird - one of the side pieces was split very nicely and whoever packed it even wrapped the broken pieces separately. It was gonna take too long to return se we just glued it up.
This stool is very difficult to put together~~tight space to fit screw driver~terrible directions~wobbly when finished!
