i love this movie
Love me some Cheech Marin! One of my favorite childhood movies! I was born in East L.A.!!!
Its a comedy movie it bring me good memories.
I remember watching this movie on tv in the 90's. It seemed much more interesting and longer on tv. The movie in its entirety was ok. There are parts that take away from the movie but you can definitely get a lot of conversation about the underlying issues with immigration especially if you are aware of the current system. Its a bit exaggerated in the movie but it has its relevance even in today's time. I do wish some of the distractions were out of the movie but it is the creative license of the writers. If you block those out its a good movie and I wish were longer.
I had been looking forward to finally seeing this movie, but now I say I have seen most of it. This version of the film is missing almost 10 minutes of content. At times it is very disjointed, especially the last five minutes of the film. Do not waste your money on this copy of the film.
I ran accross this movie at walmart.com and have wanted to see it for months. I finally got around to ordering it and found it was a real disappointment. The movie was written by and starred Cheech Marin, who is a great actor, but the movie seemed self-focused. Some parts also seemed to be an attempt to dismantle Mexican stereotypes while at the same time putting down Americans. It turned out to be a cheesy 1980's film. Low budget, low quality.
