Love our new 6 burner cook top range! Control of burner level was impotrant to us since we had little control of lowest setting for range tha could not be repaired
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love our cooktop. Had a Thermadore previously but our Bosch is so much easier for cleanup and the burners are much more efficient. We also enjoy the variety of burners for different items we are cooking or simmering.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently installed the Bosch rangetop. My wife and I really like the versatility of the burners. The largest burners are wider than those of our previous rangetop and the flame covers more of the bottoms of the pans allowing more even heating. Also, the burners can be adjusted to deliver a very low flame which is so important when it is necessary to simmer something like melting chocolate. Finally, the unit is built very solidly and the large metal control knobs are a definite plus.
We are loving our new range. The large space is awesome for big pots and pans. We added the griddle for extra versatility.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love our new Bosch range. It cooks well and the different size gas burners are a nice feature.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This rangetop is just okay. As others note, it is finicky about turning burners on, especially the two power burners. You have to hold the dial down just right to get it to stay lit. When you dial then down the small ring of the power burner tends to go out randomly. It is a good idea in theory but in practice those burners are a pain. The worst thing about this appliance is the cheap finishes. The knobs feel almost like plastic, and the grates look a decade old even though I have had them two years and cared for the, appropriately. The amount of places where the finish has worn off just from regular use with pots and pans is absurd for the cost of the rangetop. "Special enamel" my behind; whatever material the grates are coated in is useless and can't even withstand a pan touching it without flaking off. I called to complain and was told that it is normal for the finish to wear off and too bad! After two years? I don't think so!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nearly impossible to turn on on first try. Takes atleast 2-3 times to keep flame lit. So much gas coming out by the 2nd/3rd try so flame shoots out aggressively. Once lit, it works fine.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The finish Gas caps are already damage. The gas makes a lot of noise. If you bump a knob the gas turns on. Would be nice to have a safety mechanism like push in and turn.
We have been using the cooktop only for 3 days now. In the night we clean it with plain water and sponge. But we started noticing rusty spots all over the stainless steel surface of the cooktop.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought all new 800 series appliances. We are very happy with the dishwasher, fridge and ovens. But it takes an engineer to get the range top burners to light . You turn the knob and have to apply pressure for up to 10 seconds while the thing sparks to have any hope of getting the burners to light. The central one in front rarely works even with that. We had the authorized repair guy out and he seemed to think that was normal. It certainly wasn't normal with our old kitchenaid. So I guess we're just out 3 grand.
