I've been married 32 years and have had SEVERAL dishwashers. We have very hard water where we live, and water spots and chalky residue have always been a problem. I have always had to practically wash the dishes before I loaded them into the dishwasher. Not any longer! This dishwasher is AMAZING!! My dishes have NEVER been this clean. It's quiet also.....LOVE it!!
PROS: --We just love the features this DW has and how absolutely QUIET it is. We do about 4 loads per week for the 2 of us. We use one Powerball tab and the rinse agent, and the dishes come out sparkling clean and almost bone dry. --When the cycle ends, we just hit "Off", and open the door to finish air-drying (and let some extra humidity into the house). How difficult is that? --I love the Delay Start (from 1-9 hrs.) and the ability to monitor the remaining time left in the cycle. Then I am ready to turn it off and open the door. --I love that this DW has the Half Load and Express Wash features, although we have not used those cycles yet. --As opposed to another reviewer, I love the On/Off and Start buttons. My old DW left you hanging on whether you were about to start or end a cycle and you had to repeatedly hit the start button until the machine was silent. --This DW has a built-in 24/7 Overflow Protection feature that senses leaks if the DW is turned off. If water levels get too high, the DW pumps water out of the tub and closes the water inlet preventing floor damage. I verified this with someone at Bosch, although this is not mentioned anywhere in the Owner's Manual (!?) CONS: I think the narrow spacing between the tines could prove a challenge for some dishes. I have Corelle and am able to load a LOT of dishes because they are so thin. But heavy and thick stoneware would pose a problem. --Measure the interior of your old machine before purchasing this one. I found it to be 2" shorter lengthwise on the bottom rack, and 1" smaller each on the top rack's length AND width from our previous one. This is not a deal-breaker for us since we don't have a large family, but this should be a consideration for others. --I think the fold down rack to hold wineglasses needs improvement as it does not fold down completely to securely hold the stem in place. I lost a wine glass on the second time I used the DW. I will now load wine glasses with something plastic to cushion them if they should topple. OTHER COMMENTS: --The loading is different from our 8+ yr. old (other brand), but any new appliance comes with a learning curve. --Some people have complained about an odor after using it, but we keep an eye on any food debris at the bottom screen and swipe down the inside edge of the door and the door after every load with a microfiber cloth. --This machine does not have a food grinding feature for food debris. You DO have to monitor the removable filter at the bottom and occasionally rinse it clean. It's no big deal, and avoids problems. I would highly recommend this Dishwasher. It is attractive and has excellent features at a great price. I am certainly hoping to get more than 8 yrs. out of it, than I had with our previous DW.
My wife and I, ocassional guests; require one to two loads per week. I normally turn on in the early morning while reading the paper. I am in the kitchen, no more than ten feet away. After six months of owning, I still find myself looking over my shoulder to make sure it's on! It's whisper quiet, and cleans just as well. Filter is easy to clean, machine tells me when to add more drying agent. I've only filled twice, so far. My only complaint is that we were not aware of the quality and efficiency much sooner. Installed myself, washing first load in less than one hour!
My dishwasher is nearly twelve years old purrs like a kitten and washes clean as a whistle.we couldn't be happier.searching back through the lifespan that I have had my dishwasher I can't come up with one complaint it is very dependable. If for some reason it should break I would definitely replace it with a new Bosch dishwasher
We bought this model last year when we remodeled our kitchen. I love it! It is so quiet you can hardly hear it running. I've used several dishwashers in my lifetime and this one beats all of them for being quiet. Only thing I do not like is, it does not have a drying cycle and unless you leave them at least 12- 24 hours, the dishes are still wet when you unload them.
Wasn't thrilled with the first few uses - at least one to two dishes or bowls would come out with stains or not completely clean and at least one piece of flatware would also still be dirty - almost like the water never even touched them. I adjusted my amount of detergent (using Cascade powder) by adding more of it and selecting heavy or normal wash if I had rinsed the dishes in any way. The installer said that if I had rinsed them, the dishwasher would detect that and perhaps not clean as well. Oh brother. Anyway, it seems to have gotten better with more use - we are getting better at loading it (very diff from our previous dishwasher that was 10 yrs old and not a Bosch) and I am going to get the recommended Quantum/powerball detergent and more jet dry finish - guess we were spoiled b4 as our old dishwasher needed only powder detergent and cleaned and dried just as well. Now I only wish we had put out the extra 200.00 for the third rack - we have a very large family and could use the extra room in the dishwasher. We have to use the dishwasher twice a day minimum. A huge plus with this dishwasher compared to our previous Maytag is that there is a lot more room for tall things on the bottom even though the Maytag also had adjustable racks.
When our old dishwasher gave it up after over ten years of "spotty" service, we decided to take the advice of Consumer Reports magazine and search out a Bosch appliance. Finding a white dishwasher in a world obsessed with stainless steel was not that easy. But our kitchen is all white and light creams colours so this was the only option! Originally we worried about the price tag of a known quality appliance like Bosch, but eventually we found a Bosch in white at a reasonable price. I was able to easily install it and had it running in under an hour...and what a difference it makes. The machine so quit we often question if its even on, but the countdown timer conveniently confirms how much time is reamaining on the load. Dishes have never been cleaner too! And the stainless steel interior is less suseptable to stains and water sediment. The Auto Wash feature is an incredible new bit of dishwasher technology that ensures conservation and efficiency every-time. The only criticism we have is that the machine does not power off when the load is done and must be manually powered down. A minor inconvenience though, and one I am sure they will correct in future designs.
Previous dishwashers were (GE, Whirlpool and Fridgadaire) The cycle lasts longer than any I have ever had...but we only run it overnight so it dosen't really matter. The loading capacity is less, we knew this when we bought it....but all our kids are gone and it is just me and my wife so we have never had an issue with it. The dishwasher gets the contents cleaner than any other one and it is the quietest. It was easy to install and after a year we have no issues with it...
I love that it is extremely quiet. That's the best feature. I can still hear the TV when it's on. Loading is frustrating for odd shaped dishes. Very disappointed in the cleaning. I used the recommended powder detergent with the rinse aid. Glasses have a film. Now have tried every different detergent. Now the detergent cup only opens half the time and stainless tub has the film too! Not what I expected from a Bosch appliance.
One has to push the start button more than once to start the cycle. Purchased the dish washer on May 10, 2013 and on November 3, 2013, the dishwasher stopped in the middle of a cycle. Followed self help suggestions to restart without success E 24 code appears and no mention in manual as to what E-24 code stands for. It was recommended I buy a Kitchen Aid and I should have listened to that advice
