Bosch SHX89PW75N 38 dBA Stainless Dishwasher with 3rd Rack

This is a review for Bosch Benchmark series dishwasher in stainless steel. Our kitchen cabinets are off-white (not bright white, but not yellowish, either). The design of this dishwasher and its stainless steel finish are an excellent fit. The product is well designed; the controls are inuitive to use; the operation is wisper-quiet; the interior (the trays for the dishes) is well designed. The machine is a pleasure to use.

I bought this dishwasher four months ago, I'm very happy with this purchase. I have very hard water, every year I had to replace them, came to a point that I decide not to get a dishwasher any more. until my neighbor got this Bosch model, waited about six months to see his experience and the results where very positive. So I decide to give a try, so far I'm very please with the results, dishes and pots came out very clean and shiny glasses. We love it.

This dishwasher does an amazing cleaning job. It was a shock to behold the results after using for the first time. That said, I was also taken aback at how complicated it was to set up for the first time use. This may not be the unit for someone that is technically challenged. The online manual which is searchable, covers a mindboggling number of usage situations, from water hardness levels to button tones. Our installer turned it on and abruptly left. Now I know why! There are a number of how-to videos online which I highly recommend.

This dishwasher was purchased in July 2017 to replace a broken one. It is in the center of an open concept home so it needed to be quiet. The sales staff at the appliance center told us that we would need to look for the light because we wouldn't hear the dishwasher running - he was correct!! It is super quiet! We love the third drawer feature which is so convenient for small items and they don't get lost down into the bottom of the dishwasher! The only downside is the evaporative drying feature. If there is the slightest lip on any item there will be a pool of water at the end. This is a minor inconvenience compared to the benefits. Highly recommended!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So quiet I can't tell it's running! This truly is the quietest dishwasher I have ever seen. It makes all my other appliances seem loud now... -I do not like the panel. It's hard to press the start button. -It is a Benchmark, but not really. It does not have CrystalDry™ -It is so quiet, it has a light to show it's running. But the light is red! So my brain keeps thinks there is an issue. I wish it would turn green when done.

Overall we are happy with the dishwasher. It's so quiet you can't even hear it run. The red light is helpful in knowing that it is running. It seems a bit smaller than our previous dishwasher. There isn't as much space for large dishes in the bottom rack. There is plenty of space on the top rack for things like glasses. The drawer for utencils is very nice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the Bosch Super Silent Plus 38 dBA dishwasher expecting premium performance commensurate with the price and reputation. While it is impressively quiet and cleans dishes well, the drying performance has been extremely disappointing. After running a full cycle and leaving the dishwasher unopened, we returned two days later to find the interior still very damp, with visible moisture throughout. We understand Bosch uses condensation drying, but this level of retained moisture feels excessive and raises concerns about hygiene, odor, and mold — especially for households that travel or don't unload immediately. We used rinse aid, proper loading, and appropriate cycles, yet the results did not improve. For a high-end appliance, we expected better drying outcomes or at least clearer communication that dishes and the interior may remain wet long after a cycle finishes. This may be acceptable to some users, but for us, the trade-off between silence and basic drying performance is not worth it. We're disappointed, as we wanted to love this dishwasher, but it doesn't meet our expectations for daily usability or peace of mind.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Don't buy this dishwasher. It's so annoying to use, it takes forever and once you close the door there is no way to tell if it's running or not unless you open it it accidentally during operation. If that happens, it's a big hassle to restart it.

We've used Bosch dishwashers since July 1999 and have been energized advocates of their product. However since our purchase of this model, I'm sorry to say that it's been a complete letdown. We've had it for 10 months and it has been a very frustrating 10 months. The cleaning and noise features are outstanding but the electronic controls are woefully inadequate. I have to constantly shut down the power and hot water line to the unit so that it can reset itself. The machine will just turn on the controls by itself and lockup. The RESET BUTTON does not reset the controls. I have to pull the power cord and turn off the hot water supply and let it sit for 15 mins before I can hook it back up and start the machine. Extremely frustrating!
