Sleek and powerful soundbar

Ronnie97 June 6, 2026

The Bose Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar is a sleek and powerful speaker on its own, and if you decide to create a surround sound setup with the subwoofer and speakers the listening experience truly then does come into its own. The soundbar is aesthetically very impressive and will make your TV setup look levelled up. The glass top and fabric covering of the rest of the soundbar gives it a high-end look and the touch controls on the top are sensitive and effective. One thing I would recommend for all of the Lifestyle Ultra products is that they do not come with a very long power cable so bear in mind that you may have to use an extension lead or purchase a longer power cable of your own if you are not able to position the speakers close to power sources in your room. Overall, it is quite a powerful speaker and gives a great quality of sound, whether you are watching TV or listening to music. Would definitely recommend this product!

What an upgrade!!

Anonymous June 3, 2026

The Bose Lifestyle Sound Bar is an instant upgrade to our previous soundbar. It looks great, it has a mesh surround and glass top and fits seamlessly into our living room. It was easy to set up and connect to our TV using the HDMI cable. To connect it to the WiFi you can either connect it via the Bose app or use a network cable. I have tried both ways and haven't noticed a difference in the sound quality or delay, so I would recommend doing whichever is more convenient. When you first connect the soundbar and register it on the app, it will prompt you to update it and give you an estimated finishing time, which was pretty quick. I would recommend getting the app as it allows for you to connect the soundbar to the other Bose Lifestyle products as well as control the volume and adjust the audio. We are very happy with the quality of sound that this soundbar achieves. We use it mostly for when we are watching TV and movies but it is also excellent for listening to music. It has great clarity and depth and you can get it to be really loud if you want.

Fantastic upgrade

Rob2083 June 1, 2026

I have had the soundbar for about a month now and having watched films, sport, regular tv and music it's time for a write up. The soundbar replaces an old 5.1 surround system and is connected to a Sony tv via HDMI through the arc port which is needed to get the most of the upfiring speakers. First off the looks, from the box it came in to the actual soundbar it looks and feels premium and weighs a tonne too. Width wise it sits nicely under a 55 inch tv, smaller TVs might look out of proportion. The soundbar was a doddle to setup via the Bose app, almost doing everything for you. There are controls on the top, some on the glass and others on an iPod style rotary dial. The glass top adds to the premium look and feel. In the app you can chose tv, Bluetooth or airplay. Also from Spotify you can connect from there which works a treat. How does it sound? In short, amazing! I used the soundbar on its own for a while then added the sub and surround speakers but this is about the soundbar. The soundbar is loud, packing a real punch with bass you can feel, if I lived in a smaller house or wasn't detached I'd not need the sub. The bass is the familiar deep warm bass that you expect from Bose speakers while speech remains crystal clear through some fancy settings in the app. Overall pros and cons.. Pros, it looks and sounds amazing. Cons, the glass top shows dust and there are a few config changes needed that have been suggested to Bose for example different modes for sport, films or streaming music. Would I recommend? Yes I would.

Form and Function Aligned

paul12 June 11, 2026

I've never owned a soundbar before. Two friends have them and, while I've always appreciated the convenience, I've never been entirely convinced. The sound has sometimes felt a little “blasty” (apologies for the deeply technical terminology!) and I've wondered whether I really wanted a large block of plastic dominating the room. I'm pleased to say this is absolutely not that. As with many Bose products, it manages to combine form and function beautifully. It has a pleasing weight to it, but remains discreet, with a glossy black top section and matte black finish elsewhere. Sitting on our mid-century sideboard, it genuinely looks like it belongs there. Setup was refreshingly simple. I like good audio-visual equipment but wouldn't describe myself as tech-savvy, so the fact that this was essentially plug in, connect, and go was very welcome. The Bose app recognised it immediately, guided me through the room calibration and I was up and running in under half an hour. The real test, of course, is the sound. And the sound is excellent. There's impressive depth and range here, with everything feeling richer, clearer and far more immersive than standard TV audio. It doesn't just make things louder; t elevates the whole experience. It's particularly impressive when music is part of the scene. Diegetic music feels like it has real presence, drawing you further into the world on screen. My best comparison is that ormal TV sound is like cooking yourself a decent chicken dinner at home. The Bose soundbar is that same chicken prepared by a top chef in a great gastropub, familiar, but elevated.

Great system - you won't be disappointed!

Richard B July 15, 2026

I purchased the Lifestyle Ultra to replace a Soundtouch 300 system which has been in regular use for 9 years. The Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar, Lifestyle Ultra Speakers and Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer were extremely easy to set up. Using the new App everything linked immediately with no errors or problems. The immersive sound is impressive with a much improved bass. The speech clarity feature certainly works well. Highly recommended!

Huge step up from the Ultra Smart Soundbar!!!

1Babatee June 2, 2026

I upgraded from the Bose Ultra Smart Soundbar and the Lifestyle Ultra is a noticeable leap forward. What's better: Soundstage & immersion: The wider design and upgraded drivers fill my living room way better. Dolby Atmos effects actually feel overhead now, not just simulated. Bass: Deeper and tighter without a separate subwoofer. Movies have real punch and music doesn't get muddy at higher volumes. Dialogue: Voices are clearer during movies/series. Plus the new voice pitch adjustment from Low to Medium to High in the Bose app is a game-changer — the Ultra Smart didn't have this, and it lets me fine-tune dialogue to my preference. Build & setup: Same easy Bose setup, but the finish feels more premium than the Ultra Smart. Blends and fits perfectly under my TV nicely. Versus Ultra Smart: If you already own the Ultra Smart, the Lifestyle Ultra is worth it if you want fuller sound, stronger Atmos, and that voice pitch control. For movies, gaming, and music it's a real game changer. Bose nailed it with this one!

Life just got easier

Haze66 June 4, 2026

I'm nearly sixty, not very technologically savvy, with poor hearing. I've had a Bose soundbar installed for five years but I kept losing the remote (more on this later) and it took a bit of setting up each time I wanted to use it. It was great when working. Since delivery of the new Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar, life just got easier. It was reassuringly robust, extremely well packaged, and just as sleek as the original one I had. Pro's: Robust and oozes quality and reliability No remote to lose! Exceptional voice clarity without losing the other sounds Acts like a tv speaker and volume control is via the tv remote or the speaker itself Cons: A bit of a fiddle to install. I had to ask a youngster to help with the installation. However, Bose support videos were really helpful in hindsight Sometimes doesn't produce sound using IPlayer or after changing channel. You have to redo your steps or change channels and back again to get it going.

Doesn't quite deliver on expectations

IDP June 19, 2026

I bought the Soundbar as my 8 SoundTouch products are now no longer supported. When I researched the marketing and website details related to the Soundbar, I got the clear impression that I would be able to share sound from my TV to other Lifestyle speakers. This turns out not to be the case (except those in the Theatre System), as it is only possible to share sound that is streamed to the Soundbar and not the TV's audio channel. This is disappointing as part of my objective was to share the sound of the World Cup in the garden and around the house for those not able to sit and watch it. Please can you advise if there is a way to do this that isn't clear to me.

Very nice but needs 3 reboots on startup for sound

Barnie July 2, 2026

Love this product, finally can watch and hear what is being said, without having to turn up the volume and experiencing the TV vibrating on wall. Unfortunately, the soundbar does not connect to TV on first 2 attempts, needs a 3rd reboot before we get any sound… not sure why this is happening?
