(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Some strange negative reviews here. First off, they do work in cold weather with no problems. I live in Canada and use them outside in weather up to -20c and they work great. I've had mine now for almost 2-years and there have been no problems with them. The controls on the right unit also work fine, although they are harder to work with gloves on; with bare hands, it's easy to work the volume control and the track change control. I think people who are experiencing problems using the controls need to practice more!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been using wireless earbuds from several other manufacturers and they always fall out or become loose at some point during my walking, running or cycling. Not with these babies, well done Bose...!!! Not only do they not move at all, but after 2 minutes you have no idea they're in your ear apart from the gorgeous full sound that continuously and seamlessly streams to each bud. Not had one single bluetooth drop yet!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these earbuds in July 2019. I was a bit hesitant because of the price because I thought they would bug/ break/ I would lose them. I did never regret. I run and exercise a lot and y these earbuds just completely changed my life! I wear them everywhere, even in the office. I can just leave my phone at my desk and go to the kitchen to refill my cup and I still get my music. Oh and the sound is amazing!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Let me begin by saying, these are really great headphones which, for the majority of users, will suit them just fine. I'm being critical because I know Bose is a company that strives for great products, not merely good. The only way to do great is candid feedback, and this product...is, good. What I love: Case that charges up the earbuds is easy to use and the light indicates it's working, love it. Case is small and easily transportable. Battery - not sure anyone will ever be satisfied but these are not quite able to get through a marathon... so, I'd say that's the benchmark. Needs to be longer, but it's decent. Sound- Sounds really good. Sounds even better when buds are snug and walking, they loosen on runs slightly and you lose some quality. The bad: Drops the connection, a lot. Not sure what the issue is but they just cut out, especially in the cold. This drives me absolutely wild and I probably would have returned them for this reason alone if it were an option. When it drops, you might as well shut them off as it's very difficult to reconnect. Connection skips - not sure how else to label this but often you lose the sound for a second, like a flash of lost power or something, again, drives me nuts. Fit - it's good, but not great, even with the extra sizes for your ear. I think the only solution is to reduce the profile as they still protrude out of your ear a fair bit and when running, they bounce around a lot. I make several adjustments to them while running as I have the sensation they're going to fall out. Sadly, using the earbuds that give a better fit start to hurt after about 30 min. Again, as the technology improves and the profile get's reduced the center of weight distribution will be more inset and should fit the issue. I look forward to the second version of these but sadly will not pay for new ones as these are a big investment. If I were in the market, I would hold off if possible until Bose, or a competitor, fixes the size issues. B&O might be the only product that compares in sound, which, let's be honest, matters a lot.
The SoundSport Frees have the potential to be a great product, but they fall a little short for me. Good sound and great feel (comfy!), carrying case works as advertised and is big enough to provide ample charge time and make it harder to lose. Controls are ok. They're still subject to BT dropouts when you're wearing your device on the left-hand side due to the receiver location (odd choice given the majority of righties). Biggest complaint I have is cold-weather performance - these things are awful. Wearing them under a hat in below freezing weather cuts play time to 30min if you're lucky. So - solid fair-weather earbuds, terrible winter companions, but comfy and they sound good while staying in place. A mixed bag for the price. The Good: Comfortable fit; Updated StayHear tips are soft, comfortable, and keep the buds where they belong in pretty much any circumstance (huge improvement). Sound quality; Great sounding buds. Size; While they protrude a little, the buds are a great size, easy to pocket, and light when you're wearing them. The Bad: Terrible cold weather performance; below -10C you should expect 30min of time before they die. Connectivity; still all kinds of dropouts due to cross-body interference, and your best bet is to keep your devices on the right-hand side. Connectivity Pt II; inconsistent pairing with some devices. Sound Isolation; These keep more ambient sound out than the other SoundSports, so pay attention.
These are an older design it appears and that may be why they would not pair with a Samsung Galaxy S23 phone. We tried everything through the app. There were not instructions on pairing other than follow the instruction on the Bose Connect app, which we did. But we also tried everything else we could think of. Looked online for more information, but we were following the directions perfectly. Will be returning these.
I'm Going to jump straight in here...I've had these approaching 7 hours and after charging fully couldn't wait to finally use them.......massively disappointed!!! Why oh why do they disconnect when my iPhone's within touching distance?? Unless something changes they're heading straight back for a refund.....I love Bose products but somethings gone missing here:(
The product looks great, fits great, paired easily, sounds great but when using them outside in mild cold weather (-10 to -5 °C) the left ear bud stopped working after about 5 min and the right 5 minutes later. I tried them 4 times to ensure it was not something I did and all 4 times they failed. They worked great indoors. I am having them replaced and will edit or send in a new review after trying the replacement pair.

Only had these for 2 weeks and the right earbud will not come alive. Fully charged, software updated, still nothing. Watched videos on troubleshooting, followed the instructions suggested by Bose, still nothing. So utterly disappointed as I've only ever owned Bose earphones as they don't sit in your ear canal, guess it's time got used to another brand. Such a shame as the sound quality of Bose products is simply the best. Gutted :-(
