I have installed several stereos in my and my friends' vehicles without any issues. One common problem I noticed in others' installations is the lack of split wire loom to protect the wires. This can lead to overheating and melting if not used correctly. I am using a Boss Audio 8 gauge kit to connect a 1500 watt amp to a 1200 watt 10-inch sub.

I have been using a BOSS car audio wiring kit for 10 years in another car. It was a 4 awg kit and has been worth the money. Despite the small wire size in the insulation of the power and ground wires (both 8 awg), it works for my situation. If I were at the top end of power usage, I would go one size up in my purchase.

The RCA wiring and power wires are of great quality with fantastic insulation. The ground wire could be longer, and the metal contacts for crimping are difficult to keep on the wires. The brittle fuse holder plastic broke during assembly. The broken fuse caused troubleshooting when the amp wouldn't power on. Overall, the $25 kit met my expectations.

The power wire in my opinion is not durable. I upgraded my amp and had to replace it with a better one. The remote wire is good, but the RCA cables were terrible and broke easily. The fuse holder melted during hot weather, so I had to replace it. Overall, it's a decent starter kit, but may need upgrades if you're running high power.

This kit has everything needed to install an amp, but the cables provided are not heavy-duty. I recommend using it for amps of 200 watts or lower. The remote wire is not very reliable, so consider replacing it with a thicker wire. Check the chart to ensure the kit meets your amp's requirements before use for safety.

The item met my expectations, but I received a 4 gauge kit instead of the 8 gauge wire I needed. The remote wire is sufficient, but the speaker wire and RCA cable are not high quality. They feel like copper clad wire, so I used my own power cable and doubled up on the ground wire. I would recommend investing in a better wire kit for improved performance. The kit loses two stars for falsely advertising the gauge of wire, as more than half is insulator. I will post photos comparing it to other brands this weekend.

The product arrived on time. The wiring kit seemed opened but had all the components. I connected it immediately. The next day, my subwoofer began malfunctioning. I discovered a loose RCA cable in the trunk with a broken plastic connector. Upon inspection, I found the other RCA cable was also damaged. This has never happened to me before, despite having installed systems in multiple cars. The RCA cables appear to be of low quality.

Unfortunately, this 4Gauge kit falls short in wire thickness compared to my Rockford Fosgate kit. Despite nice cables, a great fuse box, and good packaging, I can't rate it highly due to inaccurate specs. I'll be returning it and opting for a different kit that meets my needs.
