I added a second amp to my car and after that there was a whining sound coming thru my speakers. I purchased this noise filter and instantly the noise stopped.
This isolator looks like it was made for an auto stereo system. This was not apparent within the ad. I tried using for my home subwoofer. It reduces the home but also reduce the signal to the subwoofer. It may be fine within an auto stereo system but not for a home subwoofer.
Works well. Pictures make it look like it is made of metal, but it is plastic.
It worked pretty well.
This is a basic, audio ground isolator. I use it to eliminate ground loop hum in a church sound booth. I actually have two, one between the mixer and a PC, the other between the mixer and a Panaxis ACC100 FM radio transmitter. Nothing special about this. It's just two transformers in a box. It works.
After installing a Bluetooth receiver through the line input, I followed the reviews here to address noise issues related to engine speed. While I was able to eliminate alternator noise, a subtle "sir" noise still remained. I believe it's not a problem with the receiver since the same receiver used in another car's AUX input is completely noiseless. Despite some engine noise while driving, it's now at a tolerable level. If I were to purchase now, I would opt for the Carrozzeria (Pioneer) RD-984 noise filter instead of the BOSS B15N AUDIO power noise suppressor, as reviews suggest the RD-984 effectively removes residual noise. The price difference is significant, but considering the effort involved in console detachment and securing the filter discreetly, the RD-984 seems more reasonable. However, if the price gap were wider, my evaluation might change.
I tried using the product to get rid of ground loop hum in my subwoofers, following the instructions carefully. Unfortunately, the product made the problem worse, creating an even louder hum. I then tried installing it on the source side, but got the same disappointing result. I ended up returning the product.
I installed the converter on my 2010 VW Jetta SportWagen with the stock Navigation/Stereo head unit. I spliced into the wires for the rear speaker outputs and connected the converter in the dash. The RCA's were hooked to my amp in the trunk and it worked without needing adjustments. Now, my subwoofer sounds great with no engine whine or buzz.
The isolator helped reduce the hum in my home theatre subwoofer caused by the coax cable. I placed it before the subwoofer connection, considering screwing it onto the subwoofer. Combining the two lines could enhance its effectiveness, but I haven't tried it. Potential drawbacks might include reduced sound quality and occasional hum recurrence, but they haven't been significant issues. The Yamaha receiver's system balancing function works fine with the isolator. Overall, it's a worthwhile purchase.
The junk product did not work for me. I previously had a similar Radio Shack module that worked when connected to my CB radio. I thought this new product would work the same way, but it turned out to be a cheap plastic case with wires. It was a waste of money and time to install it under the dash.
