Works great. A definite upgrade from the factory radio.

Most cost-effective option

C Park February 14, 2022

Having had this head unit in my truck for a couple of months, I find it top-notch. I would recommend it to anyone seeking a similar product. Initially considering a pricier Pioneer model at around $1200, I opted for this one instead and am extremely pleased with my decision.

Excellent deal!

Walter Smith April 10, 2021

I decided against a $1,200 radio with Android Auto and tried this one instead. I love it, but wish it was Sirius ready. If the screen blinks when you turn up the volume, your ground may not be good enough. I had to create a new ground using a thicker wire attached to my car's body. For older cars wanting to use Android Auto or CarPlay, grounding the "park" wire will make it work smoothly.

Great choice for your vehicle.

Lydia Davis December 1, 2022

My wife needed a backup camera, so I chose this model for its screen size and Apple CarPlay compatibility. It requires a cord to connect to the receiver for full functionality, but Bluetooth works well without it. The stereo has all the necessary connections for amplifiers and subwoofers.

System malfunction

S Cruz June 19, 2022

I have connected all electrical components carefully, but the audio in my car still fails occasionally. I am confident in my connections, but I have to reset the system or restart the car to fix the issue. I recommend investing in a better quality audio system like Bose, JBL, or Alpine.

The unit is not compatible with Samsung phones.

S Powell August 25, 2022

If you own a Samsung phone, avoid using Android Auto as it frequently loses connection. Boss Help's solution involves purchasing expensive cords, and even after receiving an exchanged unit, the problem persists. In contrast, the iPhone works flawlessly with no issues.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are completely unusable. Avoid purchasing Boss products at all costs!

Mackenzie Roberson November 11, 2021

The boss is selling radios that don't support Android Auto or Apple Carplay, causing phones with updates for both systems to stop working. The company has no plans to fix this issue and continues to sell the products. It has been months since my radio worked with either system, and updating the firmware only makes things worse. Despite its design, the radio is essentially useless. Avoid buying it and verify with support if needed.

What a magnificent heap of overpriced trash!

Darryl Cabrera December 1, 2021

The installation was easy with clear markings on the harness and 6 channel RCA outputs. The unit looks stylish with a large screen for easy access. The manual is high quality. However, the unit is not user-friendly, lacks compatibility with OEM systems, and has poor sound quality. The highs, mids, and lows are disappointing. It has random behavior, unreliable Bluetooth, excessive brightness, and crackling sound issues. The latest problem is the unit starting at full volume with a malfunctioning volume button. Consider reputable brands like JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony, or Alpine for a better experience.

The product does not work with Google Pixel and Samsung phones when using Android Auto.

John Miller March 9, 2022

I encountered problems with the head unit while using Android Auto. Customer support explained that the unit doesn't support Google Pixel or Samsung phones due to hardware limitations. Unfortunately, there is no fix available, and they cannot update the Android Auto version.

Purchase a high-speed cable.

Aidan Parsons May 2, 2022

This stereo was causing frustration with constant disconnections from Android Auto when using Samsung s21 phones. After trying various settings adjustments with no success, I discovered that using a high-speed USB cable resolved the issue. Although the cable improved the situation, disconnects still occur frequently, leading to disappointment, especially if the unit is incompatible with Samsung phones. It would have been helpful if Boss had included a suitable cable with the stereo purchase to avoid wasted time and additional expenses.
