Boss Industrial 5 Ton Lightweight Hydraulic Electric Home Log Splitter

Very powerful for it's size.

This is the second 7 ton electric log splitter I have owned. (First of this brand). The best feature is the one hand (or foot) activation of the splitting motion. The flat end that pushes the log has a number of barbs to keep a less than square end from sliding off is helpful. Overall, It works as advertised.

I did a lot of research on which electric log splitter seemed like the best option and I decided to go with Boss Industrial Log Splitter Electric 7 Ton. Used it this weekend and man this thing did NOT disappoint. We split about a half a cord over the weekend. It goes quicker than I thought it would. Definitely like the one hand operation. Just have to obviously really be careful and pay attention to what you're doing. Did have two logs that were old and too dense for this machine but out of all the logs we did, if only two didn't make it, no complaints with that at all. It was very easy to set up. Did have to purchase a separate electric cord which added to the overall cost but all in all, I'm super happy with this purchase and did buy the extended warranty for peace of mind.

I'm just getting into the wood stove/heater and I wanted a splitter that was great priced , but not a piece of junk. Didn't know much about Boss log splitters, but took a chance and I've been really happy with it. We have a small house so we don't need a mountain of timber and the 7 ton was perfect. I'm sure it could handle way more work than I give it, but one of my neighbors puts his through way more activity and he's never had a problem. Give this little guy an A+

Used for three medium trees. Power is low when used to far from outlet. But works good. Splitting oak trees at least 20 inches . I am used to using the gas powered monster splitters but this is good for what we use it for. Easy to move around and remember to remove the handle before transporting..

I like the full stroke of the ram, and the cycle time is fine. Easy to clean, and a nice long chord. Didn't care for the thick paint job on the splitter, needing cleaned off to become smooth. Somewhat discouraged that the labeling gets torn off when the unit cycles. Write down the serial number first) Working with gloves, it would be VERY hard to stop the unit quickly. I also found that mounting the accessory log tray solidly, shows how thin the tubing is. It could have been heavier. (The rounded handle is sloppy fitting also) Also bought the 4-way splitter attachment, and found that again, the paint restricted the wood from splitting well. I have ground the paint off and ground the surfaces smoother, and sharpened. I hope this will split better. Overall, the unit works well.

Control plastic box was broken. Texted customer service. Hopefully they can . Resolve the problem.

Fresh out of the box it did not work. Boss is not responding to my inquiries.
