Botan Musenmai White Calrose Rice, 20 Lb

Love this rice it is our favorite! Great as just white rice, but also works great for home made sushi! Nice small grain and a little sticky after cooking. Fluffs up nice. There are some quality issues sometimes with some dark/black spotted/colored grains, but I just pick those out when I see them. E.g. from the 3 cups I cooked today I found like 6ish grains that looked unappetizing and I just took those out.

The only rice my Japanese and Dominican household will eat. Absolutely, the best rice on the market. Perfect for sticky sushi rice and arroz con habichuelas.

Great value for money. Rice can be used as Sushi rice and exchanged as risotto rice because of its roundness, aromatic, %26 absorptive quality. it is also much more affordable than risotto rice so it is a nice alternative as a short grain it also works pretty nice for paella's as it does a really nice crispy burn in the pan as well!

Calrose rice is a high quality rice and affordable. It is a short grain and sticky rice , specially if you put too much water. For the purpose I use these rice it's Great, I cook congee with chicken an Asian soup and the taste and texture is very good. I will buy it again. If you want a loose rice for fried rice I would use basmati or other long grain rice.

This is the Solar rice that we use in our household. Typically, we buy a 5 pound bag, but decided to go with the 20 this time. The quality of the rice is good and it cooks very well in a rice cooker. Obviously it cooks well in other situations also but it's really easy in their rice cooker. He creates an appropriate consistency of sticky rice, which is eaten often in my family. This rice, with a small preparation step, is also used to make sushi in our house if you use lots of rice, this is a good choice with the 20 pound version, but if you just like a good rice that takes on flavor well, then this is also a good choice for you possibly in the 5 pound bag

Being from Hawaii, we are acclimated to eating "sticky rice". It's very different than long grain rice. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to order Calrose Rice (just like home in Hawaii) and able to conveniently ship it to my son who lives on the mainland. Walmart.com made it super easy.

Awesome rice if you want quality with breaking bank, but one time it tasted funny and about half way through I started seeing some kind of dirt or dust (enough I couldn't fully rise it from). I couldn't tell if it was a producer, packager, or reseller things as the bags at Walmart sometime get roughed up, but Walmart fixed it.

I used to buy this rice for many years, like 13 or 15 years, and it was the best. But recently, as you can see in the pictures it is very very very bad. Everytime i cook it i have to spend some time trying to remove the weird things i find inside, so we are back to the 1950s now when people needed yo clean rice before they cook it! Walmart, is this something acceptable for you? Is it normal that i pay $27 to eat rice that is full of brown and black things!!

This rice is smelling good and tasty to eat. It fills you up with small amounts. Heavy and delicious. I use this rice to make a sushi roll, I call it sushi rice. When we cook make sure put less water or cook only with steam. Not easy to cook but not hard either.
