I was so sick and tired of my free weights adding or removing was taken to much time . Now I just dial the weight I need and away I go . I'll never go back . Keep the new products coming. Make sure you buy the stands they help alot and there made very well .
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As I get older I recognize that strength training is essential. I am 54 years old and historically intimidated by weights. Bowflex weights are inviting and easy to use. I almost feel like they were made for someone like me!
Great, versatile equipment which added numerous exercises that enhances my workouts. I now have the tool to do upright rows, tricep extensions, shoulder presses & a variety of other movements. Only problem is that I should have bought this sooner! NOTE: the directions to ensemble these products [i purchased the bars, the stand and the additional weights] are also on YouTube which clearly illustrated the steps and made it so easy to put them together!
I recently purchased a Bowflex SelectTech 2080 barbell with optional weight upgrade. The standard 80 lbs. barbell was great for doing curls, skull crushers, etc.--anything arm focused--but I wanted something heavier so I could do shoulder presses, squats, and lunges. The weight upgrade did the trick. It works seamlessly with the standard 2080 kit, but the added 40 lbs. provided me with the added resistance I needed to get a true total body workout. It was well worth the investment.
I have the dumbbells' and the new barbell. Saves so much space not having to stope 100 different weight variations. The seem to last forever and are very durable.
I use this product because i have MS so the fact i can adjust the weights with one hand its amazing to me. If some of you guys found the grip difficult on the wave bar simply use work out gloves
It's convenient and easy to use. It's a smooth transition and between sets when you want to raise or lessen the weights. It's easily contained in one area with its own rack.
I upgraded from 80lbs. To 120lbs. set because of my progress. The equipment is very easy to adjust, I use it to perform all exercises from over head presses, deadlifts, bent over rows and bench presses. I'm 65 years old.
Great product if you have a small space. The set up was challenging , set aside a couple hours . The instructions need to be more detailed , more pictures I had reversed one of the steps due the instructions tons being vague . Friends of mine have also purchased and had the same issue . Recommend add more detailed , step by step instructions with clearly defined images for each step . In the future I'd like to see a heavy duty bar which can support more weight . I have a set of adjustable bowflex barbells from 10 years ago and the select tech bar bells are still in great shape .
I really like it. With the expanded plate pack, it was a little tricky to get the stand width configured correctly to allow the plate changes to work. Once I got it as good as I could, I still must ensure I am putting the barbell in evenly and level in order for it to lock in. Other than that, I really like the barbell system and I use it all the time. As a potential future accessory, it may be nice to have a squat rack configuration. Depending on a person's strength, getting a fully loaded 120 pounds from waist level to over one's head may be challenging.
