These dumbbells are the only set you'll ever need.

Daniel June 16, 2022

I use these dumbbells every day for a variety of strength training exercises. They are extremely easy to use and convenient. I have them stored in my bedroom to which they don't take up a lot of space and they are readily available for my morning routine.

I AM REALLY ENJOYING MY PURCHASE

ValleyGirl February 23, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I weight lift 4-5 times a week, so I use these often. My only complaint is I find it a tad bit difficult to do suitcase squats with them because of them being a bit bulky and if I'm wearing shorts, they scrape my legs so on those days I have to wear leggings or sweatpants. That said, the fact that they go up to 90lbs it's definitely worth it in my opinion. Now if only there was a compact hip thrust weight product for small apartments (hint, hint) or at the very least a weighted bar that goes up to 110 or more lbs. I've searched but haven't been able to find one.

Beast mode on

Cane01 October 14, 2014

Truly amazing!! Nice design and compact allows for easy access. The app allows for numerous different 6 week programs that are highly functional and avoids boredom. I had stopped working secondary to time and was honestly tired I the gym. Best investment I have done in awhile!! Thanks Bowflex

Worth it!

Grassy December 16, 2014

Worth the money! I have been debating these for years and finally pulled the trigger on Black Friday. Its really easy to adjust weights and they are stable when using them. You can have different weights on each side of the db but if you pay attention to the adjustments you will be fine!

Best home gym purchase

M&M January 21, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only con, is they are a bit bulky, some movements just have to be aware how long they extend. At least they always have the same length so you get used to it. But longer than regular dumbbells especially if your not used to heavier ones. Other than that have been great! Easy smooth Dial to change weights, ready to take off and re rack, no sliding movements of weights like many slide on plastic weight options with clips. Grip is nice and even for a bigger hand fits well.

Not your average Dumbbells

Your everyday busy guy that works out November 10, 2015

These Dumbbells provide a compact, convenient, and easy way to perform many solid work out routines. My wife and I both use these Dumbbells together because they go from 10lbs to 90lbs. Combine them with the bench and support rack for the ultimate room saver. We absolute loves these revolutionary and "not your average" Dumbbells".

I have bought this product 4 times! Love them

Tom the teacher March 4, 2019

I bought a pair of Selecttech 552s in 2007 and have loved them for a decade. I recently bought my daughters/their guys a new set of 552's and a set of 1090's. I ended up liking the 1090's enough that I gave my old 552's to a needy student (I'm a HS teacher) and bought a new pair of 1090's for myself. I do wish the 1090 handles were more like my old 552's and that the angle of the stand was slanted forward a bit like my old 552 stand, but generally they are the same excellent product I've known and loved.

Great Dumbbells For Work Outs

DJ July 2, 2014

I use this product to help with my workouts. It's great to be able to select different weights intead of having several weights to perform the same function. I can easily increase the weight in my workouts by a turn of a dial. They aren't rock solid as a regular free weight but it gets the job done in my honest opinion. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is that one of the handle was either damaged or not 100% when I received it. I'm currently waiting for a replacement unit.

Better than what I ever expected.

Shaun John January 24, 2015

I think the product is fantastic. I do sometimes think that I only needed the 545's. I do worry at times about how fragile they maybe but so far they seem to be undestructible. Only time the size gets in the way is on flat bench where you turn your wrists sideways to finish the lift. All in all this product is great and has done more for me than I ever expected it too. Cheers! Bowflex

Good but BRUISING workout

Bruised Body January 24, 2011

I've been lifting for many years. I bought this set to replace a 5 through 90# hex dumbbell set that was taking up too much room in my basement. In my workouts, I rest the hex dumbbells on my thighs and kick them up for exercises like seated bench press and nose crushers. The Bowflex SelectTech 1090 set is well engineered and easy to adjust, BUT... The adjustment knobs at the ends of each dumbbell are small and contoured in a way that makes supporting them on my legs both painful and bruising. If Bowflex had made them larger, flatter, and perhaps, padded, this set would be so much more pleasant to use. Beyond that, I wrote the company for advice, and was ignored. I continue to get marketing from Bowflex, but customer support never answered my letter. I purchased the dumbbells with a bench and stand. The stand is really not needed. The bench is sturdy enough for home use, but not of the quality of a gym bench, and the plastic end pieces of the back support keep falling off. I'm not sorry I bought the set, but I believe it could be greatly improved by a few little engineering tweaks.
