Its a sturdy bench and the set up was fairly straightforward. It took around a half hour to set up and has held up well over the first two weeks. Its a great bench for the price and very versatile. It can be used for all of the basic, exercise movements. It is a little bulky to store in one bedroom apt unit, but overall I am very pleased with the bench.
The bench is great for ab workouts with the negative incline. I cannot wait to use our new Bowflex weights once they arrive. The bench is sleek looking and comfortable. Very easy to switch inclines. It is a good size for us (6 feet tall) and sturdy without being too large or bulky.
With the purchase of this piece of equipment (to go along with my 552 Selectech Adjustable Dumbbells), I am set! I do not have much space, so this stowaway bench does the trick. It was a cinch to put together and feels very sturdy. I do wish it had the 60 degree angel as 45 degrees feels like I am lying back a little too far to do incline dumbbell curls. I am really enjoying its color too as the 5.1S (which does have the 60 degree angle) has more red than I prefer. The price point on this bench is one of the best parts. I am looking forward to using it for many years to come!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very well designed. I saw models for not much less cost than this bench and the quality difference would put this bench at 2x - 3x the price. Very easy assembly. But I'm most impressed with how sturdy and stable the bench is. Which says a lot given the stowage feature. Most benches that are 'stowable' aren't typically very sturdy. This is the exception!
Putting it together was easy and as 6' 3" guy this bench is great. Long enough to lay down on it and not have your neck hanging off at the end of it. Very sturdy, no wobble, looks like the bench will last for a long time. Had it a month now with no issues, use it 4 times a week, it's amazing!
I purchased thhe bench for strength training work out for myself and my school aged sons (12th grade and 8th grade). This is avery solid bench, sturdy, and extremely comfortable. I hope there was 80 deg incline for military press exercise. 90 deg is a bit too "vertical" for me... perhaps my back is not straight. Other than that, we have been using it daily, and we get super impressed everytime we use it.
I like how sturdy it is. Easy setup. Decent cushion padding. Exactly what i need for my routine. Would be better if the padded leg attachment can be adjusted up and down. Seat could use a locking pin instead of sitting in a slot. Gap between cushions is a little big. #sweepstakes
Overall pretty good. Not commercial grade quality but should be good enough for home gyms. Only major complaint is leg rests serve very little purpose and too tight. Would have rathered they added a leg curl add on. Also the caps for the slider for the incline part of bench keep falling off - can't tell if I need them or not.
It's a decent bench, nothing amazing. I don't care for the adjustable support bar. You have to be sure it sits/lays in the desired spot and be darn sure or it will roll out. Also the rubber end caps on the support bar, they fall off often so I had to buy some good glue to keep them on. I would not recommend this model.
The bench at first glance looked fine, but as I was putting it together I noticed numerous imperfections in the powder coating of the metal frame. Impurities and weld sparks that clung to the metal during fabrication and were not cleaned off. One of the plastic end caps was also smashed in. It was well packaged and the exterior of the box it arrived in was in decent shape so it appears this happened during it's manufacture. I expected more from the Bowflex name. Otherwise the bench is fine.
