I would classify myself as a "not out of shape person". I've been riding the the line of not "Inshape" but not quite out either. I stay active with mostly casual, sometimes competitive sports. I was expecting this thing to give me a chance to get my heart rate up and generally tone my legs. I spent a quick 5 minutes on it after setting it up and my legs felt like I'd just done 2 sets of squats. This was completely unexpected. I can make it harder if I want to build some strength, or easier if I want to go for duration. The app is excellent for guided workouts, and the built-in options can also do what you need them to do. I feel like this does kind of the same thing as a rower, but the opposite. when I row I feel it much more in my arms and back while knowing I'm also working my legs. With this, it's the opposite. it kills the legs, but I know my arms and back are working as well. takes up so much less space than a rower. love this machine.
I used it for health reasons, to lose weight, muscle strength. Like to have equipment equal to a gym, without waiting or cleaning somebody else's germs. Easy to just jump into a great workout without. It is an equipment that will challenge you to continue to do better. And the easy financing save you more than dues from a gym membership.
I use this Bowles every morning. The best way to describe what it feels like is it fits like a glove. The second I get on it I feel energized and the movement is so smooth because it is elliptical but it's so much like a stairmaster except you have movement for your arm. There are two positions for your arms or you can just leave them still on the heart rate monitor so that's three positions. It feels like a real solid piece directly from the gym. I love it!!
I am just starting to use this - starting off very slow, at 5 minutes per session, trying to do 5-6 sessions per week. Hoping to work up to 3-4, 30-minute sessions. Adding 30 seconds each session. Tough workout, definitely feel winded after a few minutes. Had my cousin (in his 20's) and my son (age 11) put this together in about 2 1/2 hours with ease.
Had and loved an M5 for 10 years until a main shaft failed, loved that machine. I bought the M6 to replace it, it gives me the cardio I need but I'm not thrilled with it's programing. The M5 always defaulted to my last workout, the M6 does not default to the last workout but requires me to cycle through the workout menu. Meaning, when I start a workout I need to cycle to manual and then change the resistance level to my preferred setting. Simply a nuisance, but it grates on me. Furthermore, the M5 had a 7 minute HIIT option, the M6 does not (it's only 14 minutes). I used, and properly maintained, my M5 twice daily for 50 total minutes 5 days a week. It lasted 10 years of that, I can only hope the M6 can match that longevity. Time will tell. I appreciate that the M6 is similar to the M5 in that it's just a machine, and not a connected device. I don't require external motivation via app, I know what I need and do it. Footprint and machine layout are similar to the M5, just a bit more sleeker with a better positioned cup-holder. Otherwise, the Max Trainer manual mode workout serves me well for cardio. As always, check with your doctor regarding a workout regime.
Assembly was a commitment. It wasn't hard to assemble but it was very time consuming. I'm surprised there isn't a comprehensive owners manual. I stumbled across helpful info on-line. A "getting started" manual or video would have been great. I struggled to get the heart monitor to work but eventually did. I'm still not sure I'm using the machine to it's fullest. Workouts have been solid.....I'm working up a sweat and feel muscle tone building.
I walk on my treadclimer about 4-6 times a week I've only had it 3 weeks and I do about 15-20 min workout on it at a time. I've lost 4lbs and several inches. I think the inches are coming off more then the weight. I love it, easy to walk on, at first it takes time getting use to it. It does have an incline, stepping down walking motion all together.
This was much harder than I anticipated, but in a good way! I can tell that my endurance is building with each workout. I am combining this with other training for my cardio and am doing it 5 times a week as opposed to the 3 that is recommended. I plan to start doing it twice a day. The only down side is that I wish it had the hand/arm bars like an elliptical- I feel like that would give you more of a full body workout and make the movement more fluid.
I so wanted this thing to be the exception. When it works - it really is a game changer. A step way above ellipticals as far as the workout goes. I use it five days a week - WHEN IT WORKS. And they is the rub. In the year I have had it - the tensioner has given out twice, and it randomly won't power on Aniya every two months. Why can't we make quality products any longer?
We have a whole Bowflex gym. This was bought to replace an M3 that lasted almost 10 years. Machine was broken upon arrival. Flimsy, broken pieces, and made loud noises when used. The calorie counter and gauge doesn't work either.
