Slats are worthless
I read all of the reviews before purchasing this as a daybed for my office. I even bought a really nice memory foam mattress to accompany the bed. Unfortunately that was the worst mistake I could make. As some of the reviews mention the slats to fall through if you don't evenly distribute your weight while on the bed. If you have a memory foam mattress, this is 10 times worse. I plan to follow one of the other reviewers and buy a piece of wood to fit the bottom of the bed, instead of the slats. I wouldn't reccomend falling for the low price, buy a better, sturdier bed and save yourself the hassle. If you do buy the bed, don't get a memory foam mattress and be prepared to injure yourself falling through the slats only to have to go back to the store to buy wood as a "box spring".
