Through the years I've tried stretching a few sweaters slightly longer with mixed results. To be honest, I knew the term blocking, but had never really done it too successfully. Having purchased a vintage cardigan sweater on-line and finding it too small for me, I researched how to successfully block something and discovered that everyone used a version of these foam interlocking squares. Walmart had the best price and the fastest delivery so I bought this set and was extremely pleased with how easy it was to block my sweater larger. Who knew? I certainly didn't, but I've even used them a second time to block another cardigan sweater larger that is to be a gift. They were very easy to use and once taken apart, they store conveniently in a drawer.
I crochet quite often during the holiday season. This is actually my second set of blocking boards, as I needed to expand. I can't recommend this product enough in terms of ease of use and being able to fit them into spall crafting spaces away from my kids and cats.
I do wish you could buy these in bigger packs for larger projects so you don't have to buy as many individual sets, but since they're infinitely reusable, then it's not a big deal. I like that these have grid lines to help ensure your projects are stretched evenly.
Easy to put together. Convenient to use for a 90 year old to lay on table to block out three 22” doilies to make all same size.
A little more on the pricey end for what it is and how many you get but I still use them years after I bought them
I use these blocking mats for my knits and crochet work. The are easy to join the squares and take apart. There is enough thicknesses for each square to secure a t-pin into the mat. It shipped very fast also. THANKS
Thick foam , interlock securely, easy to store, and work well for blocking crochet or knit items. One set is enough for blocking smaller items. I have two sets and bought two more to block a large shawl.
Not as thick as the extra thick mats. It probably is around 1/2 inch thick, but the price was right and and I bought three sets, and it fits a 2X sweater that I was blocking. Was more boards and cheaper then the 9 piece sets that theyre selling.
they actually counted the interlocking edges to get 12inches so i need to use 2 for a 10.5inch piece. overpriced foam but better than hogging an ironing board to block afghan squares. just beware size.
Sadly these are a miss. They're thin and there's only 4 of them. Completely inadequate for what I needed. I invested in KnitPicks premium blocking mats instead and got 12 high quality mats for about $50. But thanks to Walmart's great return policy I'm getting my money back for these.
