The bracket is installed behind the license plate so only the camera shows, giving it a more custom look. Wiring connection instructions need more details for first time installer like me. Google and YouTube helped. Negatives: the camera reverses the image by default, which is an odd (image is flipped left/right). The user manual seems to say the default image is not flipping, but the camera flips by default. There's instruction to correct that. The most annoying thing is the guide lines curve the wrong way when turning while backing up. It's likely done by software that detects changes in the image and deciding to curve the guidelines left or right. I read some reviews that sometimes the guide lines curves the right way, but for me so far, it's been wrong 100% of the times. For this alone I do not recommend this camera. You can disable the curving lines (lines stay straight all the time) but I bought this camera specifically for the curving guides. If I could return it, I would. For the time spent installing, it's worth it to spend more on a better camera.
